An attention seeker, a serial conspiracy theory blogger, George Webb apparantly took things way too far by alleging to have info on a specific ship carrying a "dirty nuclear weapon" into the port of Charleston.
This caused port authorities to disrupt operations so the ship could be checked out and cleared.
It appears that the Feds have rightfully busted this idiot for the phony bomb threat. I guess he'll get the attention he seems to be looking for.
Probably some ad hoc PR work to try to look like something other than a rotten Praetorian Guard run by weasels.
The Democrats probably ordered it for use at the next large GOP gathering.

With all the leaks and unprofessional behavior I have to question if the Deep state could pour piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the bottom of the heel. One caveat, if there is radical leftist politics involved they could find a way.
With their unprofessional, screw that oath I swore behavior I have no faith in the NSA, FBI, CIA, DHS etc... to do their jobs and protect the country. It appears they know how to play politics and try and run the country their way and to hell with the people and that democracy crap, but do their jobs? Questionable.
When this happens for real, which will eventually occur, the dead will be mostly from the far left. I wish all those on the fringe advocating for open borders and reduced security would keep that in mind. Get rid of NYC, LA, Chicago, etc., and whole states would swing toward supporting freedom, even if no surviving voters changed their minds.

I certainly have no need to know any details or the scope of the search, but I do hope that it is given the seriousness it obviously merits, and the massive resources that the threat demands.
Both coasts, but Primarily the Eastern seaboard, is simply too extensive, and close to the major population centers to screw around.
Perhaps the solution lies with the realization that "desperate times demand desperate measures."

The least costly to America id also the most rational:
Ban AND repatriating foreign descended from whatever source permanently; or at least until they demonstrate for at least two generations (15-50 years?) that they actually have abandoned mass murder as a international political or proselytizing tool.
But the gigantic cost of reducing islan as the threat it is, is something that the "touchie-feelie, the ignorant and the mentally deficient will never be willing to stare in the face.
Faced with the alternative, I would choose to explore my own country for a lifetime, than to face the koranimal threat.
The USA has wonders enough to explore for several normal lifetimes.
I guarantee, that after a nuclear exchange, tourism and international trade will be the least of our worries...
Another food for thought. Examine seaborne containers at least 50 lies offshore if downwind and whatever is appropriate for the upwind conditions.
Any loss due to tourism or trade to be at least partially offset by a $5000 cost per tourist.
