Democrats Trot Out Plan C In Their Never-Ending Trump Impeachment Crusade

Politics: It is merely a coincidence that just as the Trump-Russia collusion story started seriously falling apart, Democrats suddenly shifted gears to file a lawsuit against President Trump for allegedly violating an obscure provision of the Constitution involving foreign "emoluments."

On Monday, attorneys general from Maryland and Washington, D.C., filed a lawsuit against Trump claiming that he is "flagrantly violating" the Constitution because he is still the owner of his businesses, even though he's given up the operation of them.

On Wednesday, nearly 200 Democratic lawmakers sued Trump on the same basis, with Michigan Rep. John Conyers claiming that "Trump has conflicts of interest in at least 25 countries, and it appears he's using his presidency to maximize his profits."

For those who don't know, Article I, Section 9, of the Constitution stipulates that "no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

The idea that Trump's businesses could be a problem vis-a-vis this clause never came up before the election. In fact, the only article we found in a search was one that questioned whether Hillary Clinton violated it as secretary of state when her foundation was getting fat foreign gifts while she was making decisions that benefited foreign governments.

Grab a clue, will ya?

Impeachment is coming from Romney and Bush, giving direction to Ryan.

I pray that God will keep a hedge around President Trump & his family. They are relentless in their efforts to bring him down.

I have had enough democrat hatred. I will work henceforth to get every one of the haters out of politics. They discredit themselves and the party and America itself. Enough.

Few if any of them are willing to recognize how they got into their present situation, holding the fewest offices, at all levels of government, of any political party since the days of Calvin Coolidge. And with no Franklin Roosevelt waiting in the wings to save them. They keep obsessively going after Trump with literally nothing but hot air apparently unaware that foaming at the mouth rage isn’t a good look and actually repels normal people. But having given up trying to attract normal people years ago in favor of basing their party on a coalition of the demented, deranged, and mentally damaged they keep doing the same thing that’s failed expecting a positive result. Overall this is a good thing. As Napoleon once pointed out, one must never interrupt an enemy when they are making a mistake.

I call it 'Palinized'.
The former Governor of the State of Alaska was treated similarly. Unfounded accusations, continual lawsuits, frivolous expenditure of state funds defending all the accusations and lawsuits.

POTUS Trump is now experiencing the same treatment at a higher level. What this does is give fuel to the next dimwitted Democrat plot.....the 'unfit to serve' mantra.
While POTUS Trump is fighting all these frivolous charges they will say, he cannot govern effectively, and is 'unfit to serve'. Even though it's the charges they have brought against him that have placed him in the predicament.

POTUS Trump cannot be bought off like so many other politicians, and he knows their 'games' using the taxpayer to keep them in power, so he must be destroyed before their little scheme becomes to apparent to fly-over country.

President Washington continued to operate his Mount Vernon plantation businesses during his presidency. There has already been a ruling by some court here in DC regarding a similar lawsuit about the old Post Office building leased to Trump, that the income from it to the corporation that the President is no longer directly running is NOT an emolument or a bribe by foreigners to him. Heck, look at the money the Clintoon Foundation got while Hillary was SecState...and we’ve seen the favors she did.

“Flagrantly violating the Constitution” is practically Congress’s mission statement.

To stop this, Sessions needs to un-recuse himself. He can get away with this if he goes before the people, thoroughly prepared, and explains why his recusal was a mistake and how it happened. He may have to fight with the media for a while, but this would be far better than the way things are going now.

Obstruction of justice? IIRC Comey has admitted to telling DJT not once but three times that he wasn't under investigation. So where's the motive to “obstruct”?

Where the hell are the “common sense” judges who should be throwing out these frivolous lawsuits. Will the liberals stop at nothing? Tons of our tax payer money are being wasted everyday defending against the crap the liberals keep throwing against the wall. It is well past time level heads take control. Where are they?

Maybe someone should remind brain-dead negro Conyers that president Trump, shortly before he was sworn in, held a news conference with one of his attorneys and said he was turning over all the profits from his foreign business interests to the U.S. Treasury.

Liberals own the courts. Suits brought by liberals benefit liberals.

“But more likely, this is simply another despicable attempt by Democrats to hobble a president they don't like and overturn an election they regret, using any means necessary to do so…It makes one wonder how far down the alphabet we'll have to go before we get to a Democratic plan that involves engaging in a civil debate with Trump over public policies to meet the urgent needs of the country.”

************************

When the Democrats lose (or fear losing) they reflexively launch a vicious crusade to destroy their opponents. There is a long history of animus and hostility toward those who challenge or defeat them.

After G.W. Bush won the presidency in 2000 the Democrats claimed he “stole the election” and launched a series of legal challenges in several courts and instigated numerous recounts. They were bitter that Gore lost the election and were determined to find a way for him to claim victory. Eventually the USSC stepped in and ended this circus (in a 5-4 decision) after weeks of rancorous recounts, not altogether unlike the recounts demanded after Trump’s victory, which they tried their best to undo.

And who can forget how the Democrats viciously trashed Sarah Palin and her family during the 2008 election? Only to be soon followed by the Left’s scorn of the Tea Party, a movement that they did their best to characterize as “extreme”. The Left’s allies in the media dutifully portrayed the Tea Party in a negative light for years. It was non-stop negativity with hints of Nazi undertones.

Going back further in time, Ronald Reagan was the target of investigations instigated by a Democrat controlled congress (i.e., Iran-Contra) and a frequently hostile, left leaning press.

Trump is just the latest objective of their resentful antipathy. Their plan is to resist, obstruct and undermine him in every way possible. And they have a lot of experience draw on.

Rather than engaging in civil debates on the field of political ideas, the Democrats prefer waging political jihad against their opponents. Its extreme ideological warfare that has no place in a democratic society.

I think they want to pretend that Trump obstructed justice on behalf of Mike Flynn.

Sessions needs to fire Mueller or at the least, limit his realm of investigation.
