Conservative Treehouse ^ | June 13, 2017 | Sundance

Posted on 06/13/2017 11:31:38 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be testifying before congress today and his former democrat colleagues have promised to tear him limb from limb. Fired FBI Director James Comey previously testi-lied that it was his opinion Jeff Sessions was placed inside the U.S. Attorney Generals office to coordinate with Vladimir Putin. Gottabe a spy, ohmygosh.

AG Jeff Sessions’ response will take place at approximately 2:30pm EDT today. Tickets for the circus level fiasco are sold out and media are breathless with anticipation.

Please accept my apology. Unless one posts sarcasm very carefully on FR, misunderstandings are possible.

No apology necessary at all. I certainly understand how a person could "miss" my thought pattern there, often actually. I tend to be terse, use cryptic shorthand, etc. You were most civil in your comeback.

that he (Hussein) lied to the people and sold us out in favor of the muslims.. plus much more.

That is CRAZY.

WHY would a guy named Hussein side with the Muslims?

WHY would a guy who was raised in Indonesia with a Muslim father side with the Muslims?

WHY would a guy whose school records show he was a Muslim side with the Muslims?

WHY would a guy who sealed every record he could about himself lie about his Muslim background?

Why would a guy named Hussein who was raised a Muslim want to fundamentally change America by admitting large numbers of Muslims?

The whole premise that Hussein Obama was friendly to Muslims was and still is, crazy. Break out the tin foil hats and keep hallucinating about our first black President. There is NO credible evidence that Hussein Obama is a Muslim nor is there any evidence he supported Muslim causes.

If the gubermint and their presstitutes wanted you to think that Hussein Obama was friendly toward Islam, they would have told you what to think./sarc

First things first, shut down this farce of an investigation.

Agreed, it is a farce of an investigation, there is NO basis for anyone with an IQ much above dirt to legitimately believe that Trump's team had any collusion with Russia on anything.

So what is going on?

The RATS started with the Russians hacked poor Podesta's email to help elect scumbag Donald Trump. The polls clearly showed Hillary was going to be elected in a landslide and that she was going to continue Hussein's agenda.

But the Russian led Trump stopped all of that.

The reality is the Russia issue is ALL the Demonrats have to stop the investigations, the indictments, the arrests and convictions of major players in the RAT party.

They have NOTHING else.

On the positive side, President Trump has an opportunity to continue to drain the swamp as he shows Americans how truly corrupt DC is. To say the FIX is in is a serious understatement.

The RATS only chance to survive is to either kill President Trump or impeach him. Both options are on the table for these lowlifes.

I believe Sessions is a good man and I don’t particularly like Christie but we need people with his temperament and no nonsense attitude right now.

Gowdy has done a lot of good things, but at one point he made statements supporting a "dream act." I can understand how Gowdy was sincerely conflicted at that time. but part of the problem is that some of his wealthy agribusiness constituents are pushing for more guest workers etc.

Levin gave particular focus to Goodlatte and Gowdy’s emotional pleas for some provision to reconcile the status of “DREAMers.”

To be fair, later Gowdy did oppose Obama's illegal EO amnesty. But Sessions has never wavered. I vote to keep Sessions as AG unless we have a good reason to fire him.

Just so you know, I reflected on what you said and my posts. I have concluded that I was using language that was too critical of him. While I still agree that he should never have taking the job, and that he has basically given the reins of the Justice Department over to the enemy and has lost control of his own department, I should not have called him a coward. That was wrong and for that I apologize.

I’m glad you reconsidered. Thanks for sharing that.

I don’t think it’s really fair to say he handed the reins of the DOJ over to the enemy, when it was Trump himself who appointed Rosenstein and apparently thought he was trustworthy. I know a lot of people were surprised when Rosenstein appointed a special counsel. I can’t imagine Sessions could have predicted that, especially since he was in a position to know the Russia collusion conspiracy was nonsense and would go nowhere.

Of course, Sessions only recused himself from anything having to do with the campaign, which is a tiny bit of what the DOJ is dealing with now (although I agree a very important part because of possible repercussions, since Mueller can roam free and do what he wants). Sessions has after all been cracking down on sanctuary cities, stepping up prosecutions of gangs, especially of illegals like MS-13, doubling efforts to stop human trafficking, and recently had the leaker Reality Winner arrested (there needs to be more efforts against leakers, of course, but it’s hard when the FBI under Comey hadn’t been doing much to find them). And remember, it was Trump himself who said he didn’t want Hillary prosecuted, so that’s not Sessions losing control, but following Trump’s wishes.

The article you posted from the NY Post was interesting, but that argument would have also disqualified Rudy Giuliani and Chris Christie from taking the job, as they were also part of the Trump campaign, and as far as I know they were the only other ones considered for A.G. The author also makes the assumption that Sessions even knew there was a federal investigation ongoing against the Trump campaign, so he should have realized when he took the job that he would have to recuse himself. However, I haven’t seen any evidence to support that claim, and I’m sure Sessions cannot see into the future.

At any rate, I have a feeling we will never agree about Sessions, but I think it’s good to focus more on specific issues like this rather than assuming bad motives of a conservative public figure. Cheers.
