A close friend of President Trump said on Monday that the President is considering firing Robert Mueller, the special counsel who is leading the federal investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Chris Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax Media and a longtime Trump friend, told PBS's Judy Woodruff that Trump is weighing whether to fire Mueller.
"I think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel. I think he's weighing that option," Ruddy said on PBS NewsHour.

Dont fire, have Sessions hire a special council to investigate Muller and Comey collusion with the Clinton campaign and former administration holdover to undermine the Trump administration.
This. Excellent chess move.
That didn’t stop them from getting Scooter Libby or Martha Stewart.
Comes out on top? They’re just warming up. In less than 5 months they got a hostile special counselor named within his own Justice Department to go after him.
They’ve stymied any major legislation from him so far, and have driven his approval rating down to the mid-30’s.
Time to arrest Comey and charge him with his crimes.
Democrats, of course, will go absolutely cuckoo.
More popcorn, please.
yes
and if Mueller does NOT resign or close the investigation he loses his coveted “honest guy in Washington” merit badge like his pal Comey.
Comey is now the name for a tall pile of mud.
“”Nobody but a desperate ahole would go on CNN to lie about what he knows about the President, to increase his own face time and to give the CNN gaggle something to vapor about.””
Who? When?
Ruddy is a snake. I don’t believe a thing he says or that he has Trump’s best interests in mind. Remember Ruddy gave $1 MILLION to the Clinton Foundation!
It sure has been.
Here are the actual requirements for firing Mueller. The pertinent question is "conflict of interest." I doubt that exists. There is an ethical catchall, but "ethics" is legal code for "backstabbing weasel."
28 CFR 600.7 - Special Counsel Conduct and accountability(c) The Special Counsel and staff shall be subject to disciplinary action for misconduct and breach of ethical duties under the same standards and to the same extent as are other employees of the Department of Justice. Inquiries into such matters shall be handled through the appropriate office of the Department upon the approval of the Attorney General.
(d) The Special Counsel may be disciplined or removed from office only by the personal action of the Attorney General. The Attorney General may remove a Special Counsel for misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, or for other good cause, including violation of Departmental policies. The Attorney General shall inform the Special Counsel in writing of the specific reason for his or her removal.
I would advise you think this through. What do you envision as the end game for these very powerful and competent crybabies?
would it be possible for Congress to fire Mueller?
if so, that’s the way to go...and do it now.
then, get on with the business of the nation.
I think Team Trump has serious dirt on Mueller. Dirt is the currency of the DC realm.
Glad to see ruddy back on the beat
Have Rosenstein fire Mueller on the basis of compromised partisanship. Let the outrage build over that. Then Trump fires Rosenstein on the basis of his incompetence in handling the situation.
I agree Comey should be charged. Main charge is for hindering the investigation into clinton’s email server and the clinton foundation itself. He has admitted following lynch’s order so both should be charged with conspiracy. Whatever else he leaked should be brought up ASAP. Keep this guy in check by charging him. Just like he should have done with Hillary.
Yes please President Trump fire Mueller, show them who is in charge or they will walk all over you.
Sessions should simply UN-recuse himself. Problem solved.
He must have received “the phone call”.
Bump. Interesting angle.
