A close friend of President Trump said on Monday that the President is considering firing Robert Mueller, the special counsel who is leading the federal investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Chris Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax Media and a longtime Trump friend, told PBS's Judy Woodruff that Trump is weighing whether to fire Mueller.

"I think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel. I think he's weighing that option," Ruddy said on PBS NewsHour.

Sorry to confuse, I was talking about Ruddy who I would doubt knows a damned thing about what President Trump is “considering,” and would be just as pleased to make it up whole-cloth anyway.

I don’t think that Trump can fire Mueller. Only his Deputy Attorney General can do that since Sessions recused himself.

Trump can fire anybody in the executive branch of government.

>Perhaps Trump’s mistake was in choosing a swamp creature to be #2 at the Department of Justice.

It was Jeff Sessions mistake. Session selected and signed off on Rosenstein and Trump approved it. Sessions doesn’t quite understand that the deepstate is at war with Trump and continue to try to handle things in a conventional an honorable manner.

I agree they should fire Mueller. However, there WERE laws broken, so we should have someone competent and honest to investigate Hildabeast and her cronies.

Let’s have a “constitutional crisis”. Fire EVERY nobama hire..even the useless civil “servents”. Let them worry about sorting it out in court or where ever.

This week when Rosenstein goes before Congress, the Republicans need to ask him how he can permit Mueller to continue to carry out the Special Counsel role when he has a conflict of interest with respect to Comey. The whole point of a Special Counsel is have someone with no conflict of interests.

They need to ask him what role Comey and Mueller had in encouraging the appointment and preparing the language of the appointment letter.

Based on Comey’s testimony that there has been no and is no basis for a criminal investigation of Trump conspiring with the Russian government to hack the election, Rosenstein needs to amend the appointment letter to remove the collusion with Russia investigation.

Because of Comey’s behavior in leaking and bringing about a Special Counsel as apparent retaliation against Trump, and because of Mueller’s conflict of interest, Rosenstein needs to amend the appointment letter to remove Mueller from dealing in any way with Comey’s allegations and Comey’s own possible crimes. Mueller would be left with the Flynn foreign agent registration and the Manafort investigation regarding Ukraine. And it may be that even those do not raise a conflict of interest such that the regular DOJ cannot handle them.

Trump must be laughing his butt off over this sort of story.
All the while, the press is putting a spotlight on Mueller’s bias.

Therein, lies the problem -— is the MSM blacking out this story, like they do every story that gives Trump any advantage? PBS has very few viewers (I do have to give Judy Woodruff credit for saying she didn’t think a special prosecutor is necessary).
No, the story the MSM is telling, is that Trump is trying to fire Mueller because he knows he has the goods on him. Apparently, Rosenstein is the guy who hired him, and HE’S the one who should replace him with someone neutral, or cancel the deal all together. No matter what he does, the MSM will only report a side of it that makes Trump look bad. It is MADNESS to allow a friend of Comey’s to be special prosecutor! I don’t care HOW MUCH republicans scream, Mueller needs to go NOW!

Oh yes he can, and he needs to fire him. Trumps base is all about firing Mueller by Wednesday.

Trump fired Comey on Tuesday, he might as well fire Mueller and all his Dem Operative lawyers who are making salary on the tax payer dime, and getting new laptops with access to EVERYTHING. They need to be fired now, and they need to turn in the laptops. Bye, go home to Mommy.

Imo, this whole thing was orchestrated. Rosenstein’s recommendation to fire Comey and then the appointment of special counsel.

Comey knew his firing was only a matter of time, he wanted to make it count and bring down Trump in the process.

What makes me really queasy is Sessions appointing Rosentein as deputy AG. That’s what needs to be looked into. I’m assuming Rosentein brought up the idea of a special counsel with Sessions, why did he sign off on the idea?

Exactly. That the "story" (fakenews). Extend to "that's why Trump wants to fire him." It's a variation on the same old theme, and just as fake.

If you think firing Comey created a storm, firing Mueller would be 100 times worse. I think Mueller is in there, because Trump wanted him in there. I could be wrong, but I think sessions, Rosenstein and Trump do a pretty good job of looking a few steps ahead. Firing Comey HAD to be followed with something else.

LOL

The so called special council is based a foundation of LIES.

There was NO Collusion. John McCain had his right hand person fly to London, it's on average an 8 hour flight, to pick up in person the FAKE dossier. Then without even a layover, he flew back to Washington and hand delivered the FAKE dossier to James Comey. James Comey then opened a Fake Investigation on someone he had already been spying, yes SPYING on, for months.

So yeah, we are over this fake investigation based on fake intelligence.

The left is scrambling because too many whistle blowers in IT and intelligence are spilling the beans.

FIRE COMEY on Tuesday. The fool should recuse himself NOW. We are DONE with the circus. DONE. To many dots have been connected and the Dems lost once again.

“Some ideas are so stupid that only intellectuals believe them.”
George Orwell

Weren’t we all on FR saying and thinking Mueller was a horrible pick while the elite jackasses on both sides of the aisle were praising him as “totally objective”? These traitors are beyond the pale! Grrrrr.
