Once an Orthodox Christian Temple is consecrated, it is to remain an Orthodox Christian Temple “until the end of the Universe”!!!! So we pray for our Temple in the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great.
The Orthodox tend to be leery of “interfaith” services. That is good!!!!
Many hope and believe that someday, in the great Basilica of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople (which had been converted into a mosque and then a museum), the Divine Liturgy that was interrupted by the Turkish conquest will resume, and that this great Basilica will become a holy Orthodox Temple once again. The great Saint and Prophet Paisios prophesied that it would happen soon. May it be so!!!!
The Jews close their Passover Seder with the pious hope "Next year in Jerusalem".
Orthodox Christians of true worship should close the Paschal Divine Liturgy with pious hope "Next year in Byzantium!"
