Pope Francis is infatuated with Maduro and his socialist government.
For some reason Pope Francis seems to get off on the human suffering caused by the Maduro regime.
It appears that the Bishops had to literally beg Pope Francis for a meeting and then Pope Francis ignored them.
Given the current political situation in the Vatican it is likely that these Bishops will soon be replaced by Pope Francis.
There is a very informative picture of Pope Francis and Maduro in the article.

The Communist Pope’s answer will be to have the US open its borders and let the poor, suffering masses of Venezuela in to the US.
Communism is like a swarm of locusts going from location to location, stripping it of everything useful or productive, then moving on to the next location when they’re done. That’s what this Pope advocates.

Pope John Paul II would have taken the first meeting at the very first call.
And then he would have assisted them.

This Pope sees nothing wrong on Venezuela since they had to beg for a meeting, after all he is a new age Marxist.

People like me warned the Venezuelans not to vote for Chavez.
And we were laughed at, mocked, made fun of, called “racists” (and worse).
So enjoy your starvation.
