I needed this today. For the first time I was just a little concerned. While I didn’t expect full capitulation after the Combover testimony, I did expect a slow realization that Combover, not Trump; Lynch, not Trump; Cankles, not Trump are the real threats here.
Alas, the WaCompost blathers on about “two narratives.” NO there is only one true narrative, an one set of lies. But Mueller worries me in that he should never, EVER have spoken to Combover before Combover’s testimony IF he planned to be anywhere near objective and impartial.
Trump’s legal team sees this: they are all on offense now, but I think they need to be more than reactive. Sessions needs to testify before the Senate Intel-—then immediately un-recuse himself. (The purpose of the recusal was so he could be a witness). They need to dismiss Mueller on the grounds that, as per Combover’s testimony, the whole thing was made up.
Just as for months people on their side said, “Oh, he’ll never get nominated. Oh, he’ll never get elected. Oh, he’ll never be inaugurated” I have been guilty of, and I think others on our side have been guilty of thinking that just the “next step” will end all this.
Time to nuke the “next step” and end this. Since the battle will always be about Trump himself, no matter what he does, operate from a position of strength.
