I agree. Even if they pass IRS muster, they won’t be good enough for the New York Times and the Washington Post. They will use them like a weapon against him.

That said, I’m not sure if he’ll be able to get away with it next campaign. I’m sure his Democrat opponent and his/her friends in the press will make a big issue out of it.

They made a bid deal out of it last time and nothing happened. Why would he have to release them next time?

Which is precisely why he should nip it in the bud, right now. He should have done this earlier, but we can’t put that toothpaste back in the tube.

Trump needs to issue a succinct, concise statement, “I will not release ANY of my IRS-filed tax forms for any reason. Those documents are between me and the IRS; no one else.”

Done. Then, anytime the question comes up, just point to the statement.
