Why Trump Fired Comey
National Review ^ | 6-10-2017 | Andrew C. McCarthy

Posted on 06/10/2017 7:41:31 AM PDT by sheikdetailfeather

He believed that the FBI director misled the public to think that the president was under investigation. At last, at least for your humble correspondent, this week’s big hearing brought clarity. I now believe President Donald Trump fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey because he believes Comey intentionally misled the public into believing Trump was under investigation by the FBI. There is enough support for this theory that, had the president been forthright in explaining it when he dismissed Comey on May 9, there might have been considerably less uproar. Instead, Trump dissembled, as he seems hardwired to do. He thus bought himself a debilitating special-counsel investigation, despite its being increasingly patent that there is no crime to investigate. March 20 was the big day. Understanding why requires us to go back several weeks, to January 6, the day Trump and Comey first met. It was also the day the FBI, in conjunction with the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency, issued a report called “Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections.” The report was based on intelligence that had been gathered over several months. But it made clear to the public that the FBI was continuing to investigate. As the agencies put it, “new information continues to emerge, providing increased insight into Russian activities.” Thereafter, the continuing investigation was widely covered in the media, often on the strength of unlawful leaks of classified information.

This is a superb must-read-piece by Andy McCarthy because it expertly exposes Comey's unconscionable abuse of power and extraordinary deceptions, and that Trump was and is indeed the victim. Moreover, Comey sought to cripple the Trump presidency and now seeks to destroy it. The entire Comey ruse is unraveling. Meanwhile, the media and the Democrats are at war with Trump and will concoct, report, and promote any baseless allegation to ruin him and his agenda, the nation be damned. Read the piece.

Trump correctly, rightly, and with good legal cause, fired James Comey because he failed to weed out “traitor” leakers in the FBi and in the Federal Government and Democrat party!!! End of story!!!

If Comey does not serve time in prison a terrible precedent will have been established among the apparatchiks.

Cowardly-lion Leaker Comey truly believes
(consistent with his political bias)
that Law/NDAs/USConstitution do not apply to him
when he forgets them because his mind is like ‘jello’
(like his Queen).

The National Review just can't help but start even positive articles with a negative spin. Blaming President Trump for “a debilitating special-counsel investigation” is like claiming a nun who was brutally raped by an illegal immigrant Muslim from Somalia wanted it. Grow up National Review!

I stopped by a newsstand yesterday that carries out-of-town newspapers. Looking over the headlines of the New York papers you would have thought that Comey had won the day. I believe every New York paper including the NYT had some variation on the banner headline "Trump Is A Liar!"

This blatant falsehood is exactly on par with Pravda or Izvestia back in Stalin's day. Obviously these newspapers subscribe wholeheartedly to the Big Lie theory.

If Trump truly believes and supports the Rule of Law, he better get his AG on the ball. There are hundreds of sanctuary city Mayors, school administrators and a few Governors who should have been arrested for obstruction of justice, and in some cases accessory to murder (Kate Steinle).

Cases agains The Beast, Comey, and Holder should be prosecuted fast and furious.

Comey certainly knows more about the criminal activities of xlinton/obammy regimes than anyone.

But would he turn on them?

Stay tuned

-—But would he turn on them?-—

Well, that’s going to be verrry interesting to learn.

On the one hand they will kill him. On the other hand he can Kill them.

His option..... will I live or will I die?

I am unsure why Levin and the NeverTrumpers at NR assume that Trump “lied” about why he fired Comey, especially when the explanation for his firing wasn’t given by Trump but by the recommendations and detailed explanation given by Rosenstein and Sessions.

Levin is just a clown and so is the author of this piece, seeing a conspiracy or some other “reason” for a thing besides the weighty reasons already given, just because they wanted to slip in an attack on the President in their pathetic little articles.

No thanks. Not worth reading through NR McCarthy's "Trump-is-a-dissembler-he brought-the-special-counsel-on-himself" BS.

McCarthy is another of the NR mafia who once appeared to be on our side and revealed himself as not. He occasionally writes semi-useful legal analysis, but sprinkles in Trump hate to please his NR friends. He's on my large never-take-seriously-again list.

Despite his storied anti-terror career, he has been an enormous disappointment.

By far the best summation of the treasonous ferret Comey.

Remarkably, the rationale offered for this reluctance was fear of the uproar that would be caused if the record eventually had to be corrected .

Comey setting forth his logic defying precedent, just in time to screw Trump, that he would never have to announce someone's innocent because in the future he might find additional facts to make they guilty.

Anyone who says President Trump could have fired Comey in a way that would not have triggered the Establishment just hasn’t been listening to them. President Trump is an existential threat to the Establishment and they are trying to destroy him. What they can’t understand is that he is God’s Annointed and no weapon formed against him will prosper.

When Andrew started his hit attack on President Trump re the hardwired comment, I stopped reading it.

The DC pundits are hard wired in that they can not write an oped with taking shots at Trump.

So they continue to po the 62+ million voters, who will never bother to read their hard wiring against our president.
