When discussing Watergate, the very existence of a taping system is usually noted as a sign of Nixon’s paranoia. Few reveal that in truth at least some taping was done by every president from Franklin D. Roosevelt through Nixon.
Nope. Mar Lago isn't in DC. No one with half a brain would be there is they have an option.

Foreign government... maybe. Possibly. I’m much more worried about the U.S. liberals conducting surveillance of DJT. I’m way more scared of the libs.
I'd say Trump knew the NYT article on the 11th was coming out before Comey was fired.
Now here's scenario....After Comey gave Hillary a free pass....and after the election....and talk of Trump-Russian collusion, Trump immediately started a tracking record for Comey. Something was wrong.....very wrong.
Eventually, and provoked by their very first meeting, it led right to the Professor. Insert the dots as necessary. And THAT's why Trump met with Comey....to catch the leaker(s).
So my guess is....that all of Trump's statements, questions at the meetings were a set up....to catch a leaker. And the LEAKERS came through.

Sessions resigned because he couldn't go along with Comey.
If he said he may have tapes of the conversations, it was to keep Comey in check so he did not lie and exaggerate conversations. Smart move either way - with or without tapes.
