What in the world did comey think he was going to accomplish by appearing? He came off as weak, unqualified to be FBI, and a liar and possible law breaker

Comey appears to me as some mental-midget who was lifted up to various jobs but never really demonstrated any real capability. His major in college was chemistry and religion....getting in law stuff a couple of years later. I don’t think he was ever gifted to any degree to run any large-scale operation...particularly the FBI. He was simply out of his league and unable to do much beyond his seven-line resume.
And yet she lost anyway. This guy was really in charge of the FBI? How far down we’ve gone since J. Edgar Hoover.
