a) Deputies ordered students to stand facing the wall with their hands and legs spread wide apart;
b) Deputies touched and manipulated students breasts and genitals;
c) Deputies inserted fingers inside girls bras, and pulled up girls bras, touching and partially exposing their bare breasts;
d) Deputies touched girls underwear by placing hands inside the waistbands of their pants or reaching up their dresses;
e) Deputies touched girls vaginal areas through their underwear;
f) Deputies cupped or groped boys genitals and touched their buttocks through their pants.
This is shocking, at least at first glance. But perhaps it shouldnt be. If police believe the drug war gives them authorization to conduct anal and vaginal cavity searches, forced enemas, and colonoscopies based on little more than a police officers suspicion that someone is hiding some quantity of illegal drugs, allegations of a little over-the-clothes groping of high school students ought not surprise us in the least.
According to the lawsuit, the deputies had a list of 13 suspected students. Three of them were in school that day. For that, they searched 900 students. (And, lets just point out again, found nothing. In a school of 900.) ...

Buy a damn dog!!
In GA the county sheriff is a constitutional officer with lot of power. The school says they thought this was going to be the normal drug dog search of lockers sort of thing, and then this happened. And that they can’t prevent the sheriff from coming on school property.
This guy should be voted out of office at the next opportunity, if nothing else. Hopefully there will be quite a lot of something else.
Agree wholeheartedly on the War on (Some) Drugs.
Do you remember the public uproar during the Clinton administration when it was suggested all people must carry government issued i.d.s to enter an airport? “This is America! Not Nazi Germany!”, we cried. Not only must you carry an i.d., today, but you are assumed to be criminal as well, surrendering your right to be secure from unreasonable search and seizure. How many lives have been saved? In principle, has it been worth it?
Reading this WaPo excerpt I assumed they police were searching for guns, knives or worse!!
"May your chains set lightly upon you..."
It seems as if you’re okay with this. Is that true?
900 children were sexually assaulted for what?
Priests are in jail for less.
Chains? I do not give police officers trouble. I believe if you are respectful, answer questions truthfully, keep your hands within sight when pulled over- it is unlikely you will have other problems. The last time I was pulled over was on a road everyone who has lived here awhile knows is a speed trap. I had bought an HP laptop at Walmart that said it was touchscreen. I got it home and it was not. I took it back very early the next AM/Saturday, and; frankly my mind was on that damn laptop. I told the police officer the truth. I am grateful she just gave me a warning. I was doing 41 in a 30. Not smart.
Let’s remember this is WAPO Reporting.
I’ll give the police the Terry Frisk.
Internal ? A warrant should be required.
The War On Drugs has become a war on the people. Time to totally change what we are doing.
They searched 900 minors without probable cause, and grabbed their genitals. You’re okay with that?
No one had committed any crime.
Again, may your chains set lightly upon you.
“If this had occurred in California or Maryland...the students would have walked out of the building and staged some protest.”
Only after the fact and in order to give themselves a day off from school.
I didn’t see anything written about how those 900 students felt perfectly “secure in their persons” either.
Sure.
Welcome aboard.
Let’s see the reception ICE would get at this school...
It’s a PUBLIC SCHOOL after all (i.e., they don’t answer to parents), hard to feel sorry for the parents that send those kids there.
Hopefully Trump will make it easier for parents to make the right choice.
Damn California!
Gender specific frisking is meaningless given the rampant nature of homo/lesbo behavior today.
If that were my kid Deputies would begun quietly disappearing never to be seen again.
L
Hopefully the suits awards will be huge and whoever authorized this frisk of children is fired and charged.
When will this assine drug war end? Land of the free is bullcrap?
