Sen. John McCain startled onlookers on Thursday as he appeared to conflate the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the campaign with the closed probe into Hillary Clintons private email server.
McCain said he was troubled that Comey had closed the Clinton investigation while the probe into Russia and possible ties to the Trump campaign remained open.
You reached that conclusion as far as Secretary Clinton was concerned, but youre not reaching a conclusion as far as this administration is concerned, McCain said.

He passed that point a long time ago...
She’s a pig.
No.
McCain’s voice betrays his state of mind.
In the past, his voice has been strong, even when his message was unreasoned.
Now, his weakness of voice, combined with seeming lack of comprehension, betrays his state of mind.

I don’t understand all these negative comments. His statement above is a very fair statement. Why the pass on the Clintons versus his obvious attempt to put down the President. Give credit where credit is due.
I am furious at the way Comey and the Congress looked the other way and refused to even have a proper investigation to the many violations of law connected with both Clintons.
You obviously did not read her book about her dad's campaign, which read like it was written by a high school sophomore and was loaded with spelling and grammatical errors.
Meagan, call your father asap! There’s a bit of a situation here. P.S., Bring his Haldol with you.
It’s in the medicine cabinet next to the Mint flavored Polident.
MCKook should be in care.
I seldom agree or support anything McCain says or does. However, I disagree with most comments on this thread. McCain did it poorly, but it did bring up the fact that if this investigation is about Russian interference with the 2016 election, why is the Clinton campaign, Clinton, Podesta etc not being investigated. It was the DNC’s e-mails that were leaked, yet nothing is being looked at, even though the Russians are supposed to be behind that. That is what McCain was getting at, but, as I say, he did it poorly and left the impression that the server investigation is what he was talking about. And, why the hell isn’t the Clinton campaign being looked at?
You are wrong about Meghan McCain...she is VERY conservative on Outnumbered!! She gets into it with Harf.
Does McCain remember he’s the one who personally handed the now discredited Trump ‘dossier’ to Director Comey?
Probably not...or maybe he does and is hoping everyone else forgets.
As much as it pains me to say anything positive about McLettucehead, I think you two are right. He seems to be asking Comey why the double standard between Hillary and Trump? A good question. A mountain of evidence against the Hildebeast and he drops the investigation, nothing of substance about Trump and it’s all hush-hush and ongoing forever.
“Is there a way the citizens of AZ can get this senile schmuck out of office now??”
Unfortunately, as I read the Constitution, the only way to remove a sitting Senator is by impeachment. And, as much as I would like to see him gone, anything that further distracts Trump’s agenda is a place we need not go.
That doesn't explain why McCain referred to President Trump - a couple of times during his questioning - as "President Comey" or "Mr. Comey." I'm sorry, but he came across as confused and unable to grasp what James Comey was saying in response to his questions. It was painful to watch.
I fell right in. I appreciated the treacherous McCain making a fine argument on the double standard treatment of Hillary versus that of TRUMP.
Comey SMEARED Hillary, but exonerated her.
Comey SMEARED Trump, slow walked the “COLLUSION” investigation, never concludes anything, (even today) and never exonerates him.
No. There is no recall of Federal office holders, regardless of state law or some FReepers’ insistence. The US Senate could expel him, or he could be persuaded to resign of his own accord.
The quickest way to rein him in is for Mitch McConnell to strip him of Armed Services Committee chair. That’s his claim to leadership.
He could be removed from all committee assignments and even be expelled from the Senate GOP caucus to encourage him to resign.
Of course he’s never confused when kissing lib dems rear ends.
Well Donna l agree with you although l’d say the biggest thing wrong with her is her father.
