Gloria Allred Booted From Bill Cosby Trial For Using Cell Phone
The Forward ^ | June 8, 2017 | June 8, 2017

Gloria Allred, celebrity lawyer most famous (in my heart) for her cameo in ‘Rat Race,’ was expelled from the courtroom after her cell phone went off in the middle of Bill Cosby’s trial. It was Andrea Costand’s second day of testimony.

“It was off and it rang. I have no idea how it happened,” said Allred to a New York Post reporter outside of the courtroom.

Technology is important for the modern working woman but Allred rose from the ashes of 1950s sexism to become one of the preeminent feminist lawyers of her lifetime so I think we can forgive her for failing to master the “silence” button on her cell phone.

Her other accomplishments include raising a daughter who is quickly becoming one of the preeminent feminist lawyers of her time and, again, that ‘Rat Race’ cameo.

This is Cosby’s criminal trial. While Allred is representing women in their civil cases, she’s just an observer in this case.

Translation: Technology is hard for women, some man should have done it for her.

Ended rather badly for the judge, didn't it? lol

Great movie, would've preferred a different ending, though I understand why it ended as it did.

Lawyer’s phone goes off just as the most damning (and ground laying) witness is on the stand? No way. This is a setup to disrupt proceedings enough to distract the jury and shake up the witness (Andrea C)

He didn’t throw her off, he removed her temporarily from the courtroom and its not like she doesn’t have additional counsel there.

In the bank where I used to work, if I got on the elevator every man on the elevator took off his hat.

I felt like that was so courteous and polite.

Phones are not even allowed in the courthouse here

Nope. I remember having to go to the Fairfax [VA] courthouse, and if you forgot to leave it in your car you left it outside at your own risk. No electronic devices permitted in the courtroom AT ALL - period end of sentence.

“It was off and it rang. I have no idea how it happened,” said Allred

Lying is her first instinct. Even when the truth would serve her better.

She forgot to apply a wiping cloth to it. Was she trying to send a selfie to social media?

Egad, did y’all see that accuser? That’s a man, baby. With all the money Cosby has, he surely has higher standards.

i’m not sure she’s an attorney at the trial. She went to get some face time which she managed to do.

The author must have missed last week’s press conference.

I recently discovered that an Amber Alert makes noise, even when the ringer is turned off.

Hi-tech miracle bites Allred in the butt.

It was off and it rang. I have no idea how it happened,” said Allred to a New York Post reporter outside of the courtroom.
