I understand what you’re saying, but LEGAL immigrants are supposed to assimilate into AMERICAN CULTURE, much as say, my Great Grandparents did when they came here from Germany and England, Poland and Ireland.
You are to be an ASSET to America, not a burden or an expense to Her.
Learn the language. Get a job. Work hard. Pay taxes.
Generation after generation of lazy, illegal layabouts that WON’T assimilate, not to mention terrorists and spies and home-grown whack jobs, INFLUENCED by the above. That’s not good for ANY country.

Yup. I know at least one long-term (30+ years) “legal” immigrant, a green-card holder who immigrated from Iran in the 70s, and refuses to become a citizen and thinks the Constitution is stupid and should be thrown out (I nearly slugged him when he said this). He married a US citizen over 25 years ago, she passed away about 5 years ago. He has no plans to leave the US or get citizenship. Seems like there should be a time limit on these quasi-legal types as well. When/if they get the green card, they should be required to become a citizen after 5 or 10 years - otherwise, “bye bye”.
