Bill Cosby’s Desperation Plea Deal Nixed Hours Before Trial (DA wants 'significant jail time')

Just hours before his trial was set to begin, a desperate Bill Cosby sought an eleventh hour plea deal, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

According to insiders, the disgraced comic begged for a deal that would include no admission of guilt.

Meanwhile, prosecutors want the 79-year-old to face the music.

A source inside the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office said D.A. Kevin Steele demanded “significant” jail time, a large fine and community service.

“Bill Cosby wants Steele to agree to a deal in which an announcement would be made basically saying that the prosecution couldn’t prove its case and that the defense had nothing to prove so it’s a win for him,” the insider said.

“He’s desperate, his defense is desperate because [what he’s accused of is] indefensible,” the source continued. “It should be mentioned that they [the defense] came to [prosecutors] because the day of reckoning has arrived and maybe he’s opened his eyes and realized that he’s about to go to prison maybe for the rest of his life.”

Cosby, who turns 80 next month, faces 10 years in prison if convicted of the three counts of sexual assault which he’s accused of. Those charges include the drugging and raping former Temple University athlete Andrea Constand.

Dozens of women have come forward claiming they were drugged and raped by the comedian once known as America’s Dad.

“They haven’t discussed anything feasible for Bill Cosby,” a source connected to the comedian said of the plea negotiations. “It’s a witch hunt and they are making sure to try and bury him. It’s unfortunate.”

This isn’t the first time the alleged serial rapist has sought a deal with prosecutors.

After a judge ruled to admit Cosby’s shocking civil deposition, in which he cops to plying women with Quaaludes before having sex with them while their zonked out, as evidence, the comedian sought a deal.

In the bombshell 2006 deposition, Cosby admitted to giving Constand Quaaludes.

“When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?” Constand’s former lawyer Dolores Troiani, asked Cosby during that deposition.

“Yes,” Cosby answered.

Later in the deposition, the comic described putting his hands down Constand’s pants: “I don’t hear her say anything, anything. And I don’t feel her say anything. And so, I continue and I go into the area that is somewhere between permission and rejection. I am not stopped.”

Cosby, perhaps sensing his possible doom, is now seeking a deal for leniency.

“He and his family are convinced this trial will end badly,” a source close to the comedian said.

In December, an insider told the New York Post that “Cosby and his family believes he’ll be eligible for a sentence of just probation. . .and remove the threat of him dying in prison.”

Now, Cosby has tried another Hail Mary by attempting to butter up hard-nosed prosecutor Steele, implying that a plea deal would give the DA a major victory over a celebrity.

Cosby also tried to “play the sympathy card,” the prosecution source said.

“They want Steele to take into consideration that he’s old and he’s blind. But, he had to be reminded that this is the Justice System and the Justice System doesn’t play favors because of someone’s celebrity or because they’ve grown a bit old. With age, sometimes comes health problems.”

He probably could have slept with at least half of the women if he had just asked them and did not drug them into it.

That is the point. A lot of them happened at the Playboy mansion. No one ever got laid there, right?? His kink was UNCONSCIOUS women. That is what he was into. Unwilling, unconscious women.

I'm confused. How is there a deal if there's no admission of guilt? Isn't that the essence of a plea bargain?

“I not only want him in prison, I want him in a very harsh environment in prison too. But of course I know he’s not gonna be facing that. It’s country club jail for him if he’s even convicted, which I think odds are probably 50/50.”

But even a “country club” prison will be a stark departure from the way he’s lived his life. I hope the bastard dies in jail!

While that (her staying in touch with Cosby) sounds terrible, we need to remember that this happens often with powerful people. One reason is that the victim may still feel EVEN AFTER THE RAPE that the rapist can still help her or still has power over her. Another is dissociation where the victim has decided she can’t handle what happened and is pretending it didn’t. She can’t come forward because she would be accusing someone who is too powerful and she knows it wouldn’t be believed.

The guy’s a scumbag who got away with rapes because he’s a big shot in Hollywood TV land. Now he’s trying to play blind\cripple to convey that he could never hurt a fly.

The weird thing is that he probably never had to drug women for sex; he's Bill Freaking Cosby! He could have gotten all kinds of women to jump in bed with him for free.

The fact that he would drug them into unconsciousness is the strangest part of all. Maybe he thought that if they didn't know what he was doing, they would be able to tell anyone about it. He probably was afraid of being extorted or splashed in the tabloids. So, he knocks the women out, so they can't really say what happened. That's a pretty demented way to have sex.

Back when The Cosby Show was on my mother related to me that she had read that one of Bill Cosby's demands when staying at a hotel was to have two white women brought to his room. At the time I dismissed what she told me, cuz hey, Bill Cosby was the man who never swore on any of his albums or at his concerts and he did the Cosby Show as a response to all the crap TV that made Dad's look like fools. Plus, he went back to college and got a Phd in education. How could he actually be so low class to make such a demand?

Cosby is just like OJ. White people came to know and respect both of them just after all the race riots of the late 60s. Hey, most of us did not really know Black people, but Cosby and OJ helped us around that.

It is nothing but a damn shame.

Why is a 2004 assault prosecutable? I thought there was a 7 year limit under the statute of limitations? While I’m on the topic, what is the statute of limitations on civil trials, if there is one?

"How come Cosby’s in the stockade but Clinton’s not???"

Cosby committed the unpardonable crime of calling for members of the Black community to take responsibility for themselves.

All that Hitlery has done is treason, murder, cheat, lie, steal and the list goes on.

OJ and Cosby really did fall VERY far. A lot of fame and fortune can allow the worst in people to be tolerated too long. It is a shame that what were thought to be strong, good black male role models ended up poisonous criminals.

It could be that she filed before the expiration of the statute of limitations. Also, the statue of limitations for any crime varies from state to state.

no doubt, hundreds even. but that didn’t turn the pervert on; what turned him on was bonking women that were passed out.

Cosby didn't pay attention to the TV show he created?

In another era, friends would have taken a guilty man to a small, dark office that contained only a desk, a chair, and a revolver with one round, in the drawer of the desk. They would have closed the door and waited until they heard the shot. I think Cosby’s that guilty.

I know some states upped the limit to 15 years on sex crimes. Not from personal experience.
