Multiple eyewitnesses said that community police officers fled from Borough Market in London after seeing two men with knives stabbing people as part of a terror attack Saturday.
These eyewitnesses told The Guardians Lisa OCarroll that two men started stabbing people outside a restaurant in Borough Market, close to where the first terror attack took place on London Bridge, resulting in multiple fatalities.
I saw two guys with big knives downstairs outside Roast. They were stabbing people, the eyewitnesses said.
Perhaps the most jarring part of the testimony was a report that, instead of running to the stabbing to stop it, the police turned around and ran the other way.
The police were running away, they were community police. They were normal officers, they were running away, the eyewitnesses said.
With the police out of sight, onlookers began yelling stop, stop and throwing chairs.
But then police arrived at the scene and shot straight away.
Police community support officers (PCSOs) operate usually in a paid, full-time role, and while PCSOs do not have the same powers as regular police officers, they still carry a lot of responsibility, and are a critical part of the police service.
More than 90 percent of police officers in London do not carry guns and instead carry mace, handcuffs, batons and, on occasion, a stun gun.
Mere hours after the events took place on London Bridge and at Borough Market, Metropolitan Police labeled them as terror attacks.

George Orwell quote.
Run!
Hide!
Tell!
Sounds like a Three Stooges routine.
Well what do you expect when you bring a stun gun to a knife fight......
effing pussies
“More than 90 percent of police officers in London do not carry guns and instead carry mace, handcuffs, batons and, on occasion, a stun gun.”
We can see how well that’s working out for the Brits! While we have more than a few cops who abuse the use of their firearms, I’d sure rather that they had them, because they are able to “ run to a problem,” rather than run away from one. And furthermore, I think that the really good cops are happy that a number of citizens have carry weapons as well.
This is the sort of thing that causes vigilante organizations to spring up out of nowhere.
That’s the next step in the road to civil war.
An off duty Police officer tackled one of the terrorists and got cut up pretty bad and another tried to attack with his nightstick and also got stabbed ,don’t believe all the bull
Yeah wow.
What a joke.
Those American soldiers on that train charged a guy with a gun and they had nothing on them.
It's sickening and they almost deserve it at this point. Any civilization that will not defend itself, is not worth defending.
That may actually be the London police’s training video.
While we were visiting in 94-5, I forget now, the police had a vote whether or not to carry firearms. It was overwealming “NO”.
As the people themselves have been totally disarmed over the years, it’s probably best.
The regular police are brave, for sure, but the community officers are not. . .they are generally muslims and cowards that enjoy pestering Londoners.
To protect you from the worst it is best that you go first. You'll have nothing much to fear with us brave bobbies in the rear. |
I wonder if the fake explosive vests they were wearing had anything to do with them running away, if that’s what they are trained to do or something.
Freegards
Notice the term “community police” is gender neutral.
No doubt there was bravery on display by some bobbies but apparently the community officers aren’t more like decalf bobbies. No disrespect to the bobbies who stand up.
I’d rather the citizenry be armed, and peace officers disarmed. The Republic is is distress in part because we have asked peace officers to be armed law enforcers. Moreover, our socialist government schools have supplanted church and family roles, so there is very little self-control.
