Right! 256 bit encryption is pretty much the standard for SSL certs these days. Great Job.

Thank you very much, stillfree?!!

I'm in the process of removing the word
secure in the HTML of my FReepathon graphics, as that is apparently red-flagging and making the ~certificate error~ message come up.

Given that modern web browsers have been dropping support for SHA1, this certainly needed doing, but it’s only part of the overall web site security equation.
I assume you are, or soon will be, using Stripe, or some other modern payment system that actually protects the user? (So your website never “sees” a credit card number?)
I’m excited to think that FR may soon be within modern, acceptable Web site security norms across the board!

FR is now more secure than ever! Google, Firefox, et al, were flagging our old SHA-1 secure server as "not secure" even though our certificate was paid-up Actually, the SHA-1 certificates were depreciated years ago:
https://www.trustico.com/news/2014/sha-1/sha-1-depreciation-replacement.php
Looks like the major browsers (IE, Chrome, Mozilla, Safari) all finally pulled the plug on browser support for the old SHA-1 encryption this past January.
Now... are there any plans in the works to hold a fundraiser for those of us who might be willing to chip in to help with some needed catching up on the hardware side of things (RAID, etc.)????

I don’t know why they don’t just make another duplicate site for when this one crashes? freerepublic2.com or something. Turn it off until the original site crashes and then turn the backup on? To difficult?

The certificate is not trusted because it was signed using a signature algorithm that was disabled because that algorithm is not secure. Error code: SEC_ERROR_CERT_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM_DISABLED
I've never visited secure.freerepublic.com before so I doubt it's a cache thing.

Being rich does NOT equal being evil.
Think of all the good things you could do, instead of of the stupid and evil things being done by people like them.

Can you also use it to secure the nginx reverse proxy ?
I would like to make it as possible for the "deep state" to see what I am doing :).
