When slavery was legal, DemocRats made laws against educating slaves. Now they keep them ignorant by trapping them in the worst inner city schools in the nation while opposing school choice. DemocRats accept millions from teachers’ unions whose job it is to keep crappy teachers on the job.

I know we all would like to think that, but closer to truth is this: when education was a privilege, people wanted it. And when they got the opportunity, they made the most of it. Then we made education a right. Now it's a requirement. Nothing sours people on anything like having it go from a privilege to a requirement. It's kind of like the joke about the sobering effect of wedding cake.

Blacks tear each other down when any black kid starts doing well in school. Nobody gives away anything that is of real value and blacks see public school as having no value.
