The incoming administration wanted to set up a back channel because Obama and Kerry have us toe to toe with the Russians in Syria. They also wanted to avoid leaks of discussions with the Russians. We know about all of this because the Obama Administration leaked intercepts between the Russian ambassador and his government.

Leaking of material like that exposes capabilities of the TS/SCI/SAP variety. A serious felony.

Why do people here not understand that using a cutout is far different than going into an embassy and using electronic gear to avoid US intelligence...and it was a felony to cover it up.
