The worlds closest intelligence sharing arrangement is in jeopardy after key details and photographs from the Manchester bombing were apparently leaked by United Statess law enforcement sources to domestic journalists, leaving Manchester Police and the British government who are collecting and analysing the finds furious.
The United Kingdom has now stopped passing intelligence gathered as part of the investigation into the Manchester bombing to the United States according to claims made by the British state broadcaster BBC.
While British police had discovered the identity of Salman Abedi, the suicide bomber who killed 22 in Manchester on Monday, the name was withheld from the media initially for operational reasons. Yet less than 24 hours after the attack took place, American newspapers citing government sources were able to name the attacker.
Later further leaked intelligence including detailed crime scene information, and photographs of shrapnel, a backpack, and a battery were released by The New York Times. The BBC report states the likely culprit of the leaks are U.S. law enforcement officials who will have received access to the data through the transatlantic Five Eyes intelligence sharing agreement, rather than the White House.
The nature and speed of the leaks by these U.S. officials have caused disbelief and astonishment in the British government.

"Furious British Police Suspend Intelligence Sharing with United States Following Manchester Bombing Leaks"
Let’s start with the big leak of letting some guy with a bomb into the foyer.
We might get to the details later.
Deep State did this to embarrass Trump and cast a shadow on his trip.
Find them.
Arrest them.
Charge them with treason.
Execute them...............

Lol
What you say is true but it doesn’t detract from the crime committed by deep state operatives leaking their asses off to try to hurt Trump - I was glad to see him denouncing the leak and saying, from Europe, that we need to put a stop to it and find/prosecute the leakers to the full extent of the law - maybe if we got Congress to make such leaks punishable like treason, with the death penalty on the table, we could end it rather quickly....
What's the joke?
When they dime out their source, they can go free.
It’s ironic.
But it is a good reason to investigate certain groups of federal personnel.
I doubt that the NYT would have published those pictures and other sensitive information if this had happened while their pal Obama was in office.
This from the same country that gave us Kim Philby, a senior British intelligence officer, who defected to the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War?
This from the same country that recently elected a Socialist Muslim as mayor of London?
This from the same country that sent two home grown Soviet agents to “work” on America's atomic bomb at Los Alamos?
It should be pretty easy to find out who these leakers are. Sessions needs to get a hold on this and make an example of these leakers. 10 years in Leavenworth will put a stop to these leaks.
And ot os convenient timing for leaks. Trump was looking too good on his overseas trip. The media whores and obamatons have no problem using the slaughter of teen girls to hurt Trump.
Excellent point, Starboard.
I wish Sessions would emerge from his gopher hole once in a while and DO SOMETHING.
Furious Britain has no choice but to share intelligence with America, its not like we are depending on them for help. However, where do they go without us?
Leaks are bad - I fully support prosecution and severe punishment if this has occurred.
At the same time, it seems to me that the British police making so much of this is a bit of a distraction from their own (and their government’s) atrocious weakness towards Islamic-motivated terrorism.
In Ireland, they tried internment, trial without jury (Diplock courts that are still in use today for IRA offenses) and even targeted assassinations (the shoot-to-kill policy). At least in a sense (I realize it’s debatable), it worked there because the Troubles seem to be over and the British still rule Northern Ireland. I wonder if the British could ever be so tough again and in their own country.
No it doesn’t but the Brits are desperately seeking a scapegoat and to deflect from their failings, by elevating it to this level it seems ridiculous.
No doubt. If Obama was still POTUS they wouldn't have said a thing.
Sessions is in way over his head.
