UK Stops Sharing Intel About Manchester Attack With US After Leaks
Daily Caller ^ | May 25, 2017 | Jacob Bojesson

British police have stopped sharing information about the Manchester Arena bombing investigation with the U.S. after leaks to the media, the BBC reported Thursday.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd warned the U.S. Wednesday about “irritating” leaks despite assurances from American officials. Images from the attack appeared in The New York Times just hours later, which was the final straw for British authorities.

Prime Minister Theresa May will raise the issue with President Donald Trump at a NATO summit Thursday in Brussels. Officials believe the leaks are coming from U.S. law enforcement, rather than the White House.

Yup. Over at the Daily Telegraph, the few people who are allowed to comment are asserting that it was French intelligence who leaked first. Personally, I think it is just shifting the blame.

You couldn't be more wrong about both the leakers and the New York Times.

I am absolutely astonished at how many folks in this forum left their brains with the hat check girl before logging in here. No sane person could possibly justify the leaking of intelligence of any kind after the damage to our country that has been perpetrated by this.

And yet here they are, somehow distinguishing between "good" leaks and "bad" leaks. I will presume that the intel being divulged on this bombing is sensitive info by organizations trying to track down all the ins and outs of this assault on the civilized world. We didn't just leak most wanted posters or the Manchester police blotter [old lady reports stray dog in park across street. Investigated, no dog found].

A person who carelessly handled classified material was nearly elected President. She's free as we speak?

Why would anyone bother properly handling classified anymore?

The UK press is doing a really bad job of suppressing that information.

I’m certainly not saying that leaking intel is right. I’m saying that the British are trying to shift the subject to avoid responsibility.

Also, according to readers of the Telegraph, it was French intel who leaked first.

Maybe the Brits just aren’t liked.

Restrict who gets reports. Mark the the reports so they can be traced.
Changing a letter or mark or sentence or paragraph etc different for each recipient.
Once found then shoot dead the spy as a warning for the others.

The complaints seem to center around photo and video of the crime scene.

Sorry but that’s not “intel” - as someone else pointed out earlier there are thousands of people who were there and nearly all of them have cell phones.

Besides that, the crime happened in a public place - which means anyone could take pictures. Not only that, they *should* do so if they can.

That goes double for any member of the press who comes across info they can independently verify that cuts into the official story line.

A government that can totally control the flow of information about an incident like this can manufacture anything it wishes about it - cause, perpetrators...etc.

And useful idiots who allow them to do so under the guise of “national security” are not doing everyone else any favors.

I don’t trust the government to manage my trash collection - why would I trust them with something this important?

You are well on your way to understanding American history. The average near brain dead American still thinks that the gubermint doesn't lie them. The biggest story in 2016 is not President Trump. It is that we now have proof that the gubermint and the media coordinate their lies. And the lies are woopers.

I think you are joining me on the floor laughing at them. It really would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
