But Democrats got to celebrate as well Tuesday with Edith DesMarais winning a special election in the Carroll County town of Wolfeboro, traditionally a GOP stronghold.
According to unofficial returns, DesMarais edged Republican Matthew J. Planche, 811-755.
This special election was to replace Republican Harold Parker who resigned his seat before joining Sununus office staff.

With the so called republicans we have in the house and the senate, what difference does it really make? We need a new ethical, patriotic party. Once Trump is impeached, he would be the perfect person to lead this new party.
Hmmmm....the Ryan/RINOS effects!!! Chit!!
I don’t believe this was a congressional race.
First time in hundreds of years a democrat won this house seat in Wolfeboro NH. First time ever in fact. Odd, but NH in general, is not what it used to be, by any measure.
Folks are going to think this is Congress instead of the 400-seat New Hampshire House of Representatives.
State race, not congress. Party labels can be a little misleading when you get local politics involved.
Regardless...the Ryan/RINOS are doing a bang up job of trying to lose the majority...as it stands now GA will be a cue of nasty things to come...can’t believe that pj guy might win...pray I’m wrong though.
They already do think it the US Congress.
Yup. And if I were the Dems, I wouldn’t be crowing over a win that a mere 29 vote swing would alter (and that it won’t change the GOP majority makeup of the NH House). That seat will be back in the GOP column at the next election.
More Massholes.
Not a seat in US Congress. Local trivia.
Wow, nice gain for the democrats, a State House seat with less voters than a few Chi City blocks. Congratulations, a-holes.
If this town truly NEVER sent a rat to the State House that’s something, I guess. But NH house has had a lot of turnover in recent elections.
Yes that’s for sure.
They had to have sent a Democrat at some point, even if before the Civil War. It was a Dem state before the formation of the GOP (NH never formally elected either a Whig Governor or Senator. Some pre-Whig anti-Jacksonian, and two anti-slavery Independents, a Liberty Party member and a Free-Soiler in the Senate, but no Whigs).
There really isn’t a great deal of difference between a Republican and (spit) democrat in soviet Red Hampshire.
beggars cannot be choosers /s
Democrat Christine Pellegrino defeated Conservative Tom Gargiulo on Tuesday in the 9th Assembly District special election as the progressive and union-backed candidate pulled off an upset victory for the heavily Republican seat.
Amazing how many women align themselves with the devil-worshiping progressive/democrat cartel...simply amazing.
Many are just too uninformed to know; others though have their own streak of evil.
