A state representative from Winona who urged in a weekend Facebook post that those who support the removal of Confederate monuments be lynched has apologized.
Rep. Karl Oliver, R-Winona, wrote: The destruction of these monuments, erected in the loving memory of our family and fellow Southern Americans, is both heinous and horrific. If the, and I use this term extremely loosely, leadership of Louisiana wishes to, in a Nazi-ish fashion, burn books or destroy historical monuments of OUR HISTORY, they should be LYNCHED! Let it be known, I will do all in my power to prevent this from happening in our State.
Oliver emailed a statement late Monday morning saying I deeply regret that i chose this word. However the Facebook post had not been deleted at the time of his apology.
House Speaker Philip Gunn condemned Olivers post in an emailed statement Monday morning. The comments do not reflect the views of the Republican Party, the leadership of the House of Representatives or the House as a whole, Gunn said.
Using the word lynched is inappropriate and offensive, Gunn continued. We call on Rep. Oliver to apologize.
Gov. Phil Bryant released a statement in an email: Rep. Olivers language is unacceptable and has no place in civil discourse.

Throughout recorder history, No peoples have ever aided and abetted in their own destruction [death] more joyfully than those of the United States of America since the 1960’s.

facebook. unsurprising. I’m going to start a business as a “facebook consultant”. what I will actually do is pre-filter all FB for ridiculous, drunken, or hysterically stupid posts.
the first thing that will happen is that I will become a millionaire. the second thing that will happen is that the content on FB will drop by 95%.
. . . and the world will be a batter place for the latter thing.

Was this imbecile paid to write this by the DNC? Unreal.

And the erasure of history continues without resistance.
Mere words stop nothing.

It's not stopping with statues. Mitch got his 'national press', but Malcom Suber-leader of Take Them Down Nola- says they want Andrew Jackson down as well as street names changed, Tulane University, Jefferson parish name, Slidell's name, actually any and all names of slave owners. They even claim the fleur-de-lis is racist( good luck fighting the Saints football people). Give an inch, they'll take a mile. I just want to hear WHAT all these things will be changed TO.
Fact is, every age has it's revered people then, as times and demographics changes, they are replaced with others. The majority of N.O. is black and there has been a huge influx of liberal West and East coast 'bohemian' types. The statues are gone-better worry about what ELSE will be demanded . Plantation owners should worry. Making money off tours of such symbols of slavery puts a big target on them.

If the City Council had any serious interest in the stability and financial success of citizens in the city, they would spend their time, energy and resources creating information and incentives to establish stable, long-term, two parent families, rather than spending their time, energy and resources on moving a statue.
Lets test this premise. If it takes $300,000 to move the statue, the City Council should set aside an equal amount to distribute information on the social and economic benefits of stable, long-term, two parent families, and spend the remaining to subsidize these families. After 5 years, the Council should study which has had the most positive impact on the residents, moving the statue or establishing stable, long-term, two parent families.

Why do these people apologize? Say it. Mean it. Stand by it. Screw those who don’t agree with you.

Posted on Facebook that the crimes the blacks have perpetrated upon whites by blacks the last 35 years have equaled the crimes of slavery and equaled the score. It sent the liberals and apologists seizing. Its as safe for a white man to walk the streets of Memphis, Jackson, Mississippi, and NO today as it was for a black back 150 years ago to walk those same streets.

Those removing Confederate monuments should be denied reparations, in the form of 40 acres and a mule. They upped their demands: 40 Acres and a Lexus
