Arnold Schwarzenegger has four Hummers and likes nothing better than getting up at 5am to ride his Harley Davidson to the beach for breakfast.
Yet "The Terminator" star insists that should not stop him being an environmental evangelist.
"Saving the planet is also about technology," the former California governor told AFP, putting his foot on a chair and wagging a skull-ringed finger to make his point.
Three of his Hummers run on hydrogen, vegetable oil and bio-diesel and he's hoping to put an electric engine into the fourth.
"You know one day soon we are going to have hydrogen-fuelled planes. We can get rid of this dirty diesel tomorrow.
"I hate it when environmentalism comes down to 'you can't do this and you can't do that'. There's a bad habit of shaming, guilt and finger pointing. 'Don't smoke this, don't take a jacuzzi and don't take a plane.' Everything's bad."
Which is why Arnie is giving it an injection of his legendary pumped-up positive attitude.

Naw, I think it would take at least 5, maybe 6 Hummers to save the planet.
flacid response
That ‘machine’ is electrolysis...around 40 percent efficient.
Large quantities if hydrogen are more efficiently derived from chemical reactions of compounds other than water...but still in no way feasible as a large scale fuel.
Oh...one more thing. The ‘fuel cell’ is a catalyst, composed of semi-precious metals. Completely impractical.
Ja, it makes perfect sense. Yooo can only drive one hummer at a time... I’ll be baaack.
“Im sure Arnold picks up his hydrogen at the hydrogen store, and no energy is used.”
Each atom is HYDROponically grown from water and sunlight, and picked at the peak of ripeness ... by illegal migrant workers.
He can also station one at each of his homes, so he eliminates the CO2 emissions that would arise from driving a Hummer from place to place.
Bless his heart! After receiving 4 hummers I just want to take a break, play some video games, and take a break from my girlfriend. I mean, it’s like the think you owe them something.
