Robert Spencer, prominent author, and leader in the ‘counter-jihad’ movement says that he should have seen it coming.
Spencer isn’t to be confused with Richard Spencer, prominent white supremacist that popularized the ‘Punch A Nazi’ craze sweeping the American Leftists.
Robert Spencer is an expert in Islam, and has written multiple books, including the bestsellers, ‘The Truth About Muhammad: Founder of the World’s Most Intolerant Religion‘ and ‘The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (And the Crusades)’.
Spencer is best known, for his blog, Jihad Watch that chronicles news of international jihad.
Because of his stance on Islam, he has been the target of many Leftist groups and even governments. In 2013, he was banned from the UK along with firebrand Pamela Geller.
Spencer’s books have been banned in Islamic nations.
So, it’s no wonder that he would be a target of some sort of violent attack.
He didn’t expect it to be in Iceland of all places.
Oh! I almost forgot to mention that Spencer is a staunch supporter of the only functional democracy in the Middle East — Israel.
For that bit of heresy, he was skewered in the Leftist Icelandic Media in a not-so-subtle attempt to shame people into staying away.
He gave the speech anyway to 500 brave souls. That’s actually a pretty good turnout for a country as small as Iceland. The Leftist Media, however, covered the 50 protesters outside extensively without covering Spencer’s speech or even getting a statement from him.
It was at dinner that the attack occurred.
The details are chilling.

After the event, my security chief, the organizers of the event, Ms. Williams, [one of the Jihad Watch colleagues] and I went to a local restaurant to celebrate its success. But I was quickly recognized: a young Icelander called me by name, shook my hand, and said he was a big fan. Shortly after that, another citizen of that famously courteous land likewise called me by my name, shook my hand, and said “f*** you.”
We left.
Back in my hotel room, I began to feel numbness in my face, hands, and feet. I began trembling and vomiting. My heart was racing dangerously. I spent the night in a Reykjavik hospital.
A hospital test confirmed that I had been poisoned — Ritalin mixed with MDMA (Ecstasy). One of the local Icelanders who had approached me (likely the one who said he was a big fan, as he came much closer to me than the “f*** you” guy) had dropped drugs into my drink. I was ill for several days afterward.
Spencer explains what he thinks motivated the attack, and that, too, is chilling:
What likely happened is that this young man, or whoever drugged me, heard that a notorious “racist” was coming to Reykjavik, happened to see me in the bar, and decided to teach me a lesson with some of the drugs that are as plentiful in Reykjavik as they are anywhere else.
I learned my lesson. And the lesson I learned was that media demonization of those who dissent from the Leftist line is direct incitement to violence. By portraying me and others who raise legitimate questions about jihad terror and Sharia oppression as racist, bigoted “Islamophobes” without allowing us a fair hearing, they paint a huge target on the backs of those who dare to dissent.
And it’s the RIGHT that is always blamed for the ‘hate’.

The aforementioned ‘Punch a Nazi’ or what happens on college campuses when anyone to the Right of Karl Marx tries to speak.
…in Iceland and all over the West, Leftist students riot and physically menace conservative speakers. Leftist spokesmen frequently indulge in the most hysterical rhetoric to defame their foes. Politicians cower in fear and decline to discuss these issues, only ensuring that the problems I identified when I spoke in Reykjavik will continue to grow in Iceland and elsewhere.
Back in the 1920s and 1930s, as they were rising to power in Germany, the Nazis indoctrinated their young followers with the same message: those who oppose us are evil. Those who brutalize them are doing a great thing.
We all saw where that led. As I lay in my hospital bed in Reykjavik last week, I thought about those days, and about how the Left’s demonization of its opponents today will lead to exactly the same thing. I experienced it myself, in my unhappy visit to that happy land.
I thought Icelanders were smarter than this. They have a full share of violent , bigoted sheeple too, just as we have in America.
He needs to wear gloves the next time he’s in that area, and bring his own champagne or merlot to drink with dinner.
This is what I would expect in Russia, Turkey or Bosnia, maybe even parts of England.
Ever notice Russians are everywhere? Under every rock in the most remote places? I just visited the Badlands by Wall, South Dakota and I heard Russians.
Scandinavians, like many Euroweenies are total idiots. But even among their colleagues, they are standouts. They will be willing slaves of the Islamist monsters.

In the early 70s, part of my job was to acceptance test electromagnetic shielding features for the then being constructed Safeguard Anti-ballistic Missile system in North Dakota. The contract guard for the crypto area in the missile site radar (the most highly secure area in the facility) was a Russian.

Good point. I will never understand why so many Scandinavians throughout the world are so far to the left. And I say this as someone who has some Scandinavian running through their veins. Ragnar and Ivar the Boneless would certainly show them no pity.
I think all the real Scandinavians left with the last Viking SHip.
But they merely exhibit the same disease as most modern Euroweenies.
