Villagers say theyll boycott St Davids Church, in Blaenporth, Ceredigion, Wales, in protest.
Church bosses say pilates is OK, but not yoga, which might be seen to be in conflict with Christian values and belief.
“Boycott” a church? Weird.
Boycott a church? Weird.”

I believe the boycott is prob more on the community center in the church.
Yup it is. Glad to see a church with backbone.
Nobody is boycotting a church. A Christian church is boycotting yoga because it’s from a pagan religion. I’d worry big-time if I walked into a church and was greeted with “Namaste”. Church did the right thing.
Of course, Easter started as a pagan practice. And the Pilgrims believed Christmas (Christ-mass) was pagan.
A lot of confusion out there. Hard to keep up, really.
Heh, don’t think I ever say that movie. Good bit.
“The church is correct - yoga is a Hindu practice.”
Yep
“I like yoga. All most yoga instructors say at the end is “namaste,” which means “I bow to the divine in you.” Hardly threatening to my faith.”

I suppose it’s not threatening if you don’t mind practicing Hindu religious rituals. Or praying to Allah.
Hindu’s pray to Allah? Every one of your posts should be scrubbed from FR.
I always said, if you can’t take the heat,
get out of Ceredigion.
They also banned sex,
because it leads to dancing.
Yoga does have value. Hillary does it. Helped her survive all those times they threw her in the back of the van during her campaign.
Nope. I’m saying to non-Christians it doesn’t matter whether they twist themselves into a yoga pretzel, pray to Allah, chant “OM” and/or walk around wearing a pyramid hat decorated with New Age crystals.
I’m an Atheist, love yoga...love Christmas too. By the way, yoga in Sanskrit means to yoke. Yoga teaches you to home the mind so you can focus on the ultimate truth.
“Im an Atheist, love yoga”

An atheist who practices Hinduism. Allllrighty, then. More power to ya.
Not recommended, yoga could invite unfriendly spirits into your body. Its derived from Hindu worship. The word “Yoga” derived from the Sanskrit, “to put one self under a yoke, or to seek shelter from a protective power.” Reference “Occult ABC”, Kurt Koch, Kregel Publications.
Bulldookie
There is Christian yoga all over the south
My wife goes four to five days a week
And you can attend a regular yoga and hear absolutely nothing beyond breathing and letting go crap
And of course the cycles of yoga poses or stations I think they call them
Yoga is a series of movements and positions interspersed with breathing and rest poses with encouragement from the teacher and background music usually meditative but not always
Sometimes is loud modern rock
My wife prefers Depeche Mode for her yoga music
There are mainline churches here with Christian governed yoga
When we travel she gets her yoga where she can....and to my knowledge she’s never ever ever been proselytize with Hindu dogma
Breathe in relax your diaphragm is not Hindu scripture
I’ll wager somewhere there are the kinds of yoga studios you fear but I’ve never seen them
In 25 years of watching my wife who is a near master of it...she doesn’t have strong shoulders and head stands are hard for her but boy she is incredible at it
There’s a video here of a 95 year Indio English woman in New York who still teaches and does it seriously
Yoga is amazing truly amazing on a woman’s body
I’m very glad she does it and her soul is fine...probably safer than my lifetime as a hellion
