Stop Watching the News and Focus on the Agenda, Mr. President!

RUSH: Hey, look, folks, in addition to all this being personal, there’s one other aspect here that’s going on — and we must acknowledge this and get it out there. I have a suggestion to facilitate this. I have no doubt that the reason the media is carrying on this investigation is to get rid of Trump. Remember, now, it’s fundamentally important to understand that the media is running all of this opposition and this resistance. The Democrats are an arm of the media in this case. The Democrats are not, in other words, running the show and the media following them.

It’s the other way around. The Democrats have a different agenda with this. The Democrats, the elected the Democrats are fine and dandy with the media trying to destroy Trump. But their objective is to stop Trump’s agenda in addition to stopping Trump as a human being. There are two stories here — actually, three. “Mining Starts to Recover After Obama’s War Against the Industry.” This is a long story about the great rebound in the mining industry, something Trump promised and has already engaged in.

Steel Industry, Seeing a New Dawn…” This is the New York Times: “Steel Industry, Seeing a New Dawn, Is Cheering for Trump.” The other story that’s important today is that Aetna has announced it’s leaving Obamacare next year. It’s leaving every Obamacare exchange! They cannot afford to stay in it. It’s another nail in the coffin of Obamacare. What this adds up to… Trump is not mentioned. Trump is not a target. Trump has made it clear. I think… I said earlier that I really think Trump needs to shuffle some advisers and get some people around him.

He needs to stop watching the news, number one. Trust me on this. That’s why I don’t watch it anymore. I don’t. It’s an alternative reality anyway. It’s not what’s real. The steel industry is thriving; the mining industry is thriving. There’s too much to do! Tax reform, repealing Obamacare. He’s the guy that has to drive those things. It’s not gonna be driven in Congress. The legislation is not gonna come from K Street. He has to do it. The more he’s distracted by this stuff — which is one of its intentions. The media’s purpose is to destroy him.

The Democrats want to distract him so the agenda can’t go forward. If Trump succeeds with his agenda, they’re not gonna win anything in ’18 or ’20. So Trump needs to stop getting bogged down. I don’t mind him tweeting because he’s the only guy reacting, but don’t watch and absorb all this stuff and have it govern what you think of the day every day. This stuff is poison. It’s, by definition, negative. It’s, by definition, destructive. It’s aimed at harming him. And all he’s watching is the evidence and the progress and the success every day that that movement to destroy him is having.

He’s gotta stop watching it. He’s gotta stop being a consumer of news like he was when he was a civilian. He’s gotta get some people to keep him focused in there and understand and can tell him what’s going on. He should not be surprised this investigation isn’t going away. But he is, apparently. He shouldn’t be surprised that firing Comey does not satisfy the Democrats. He ought to have some people around him that should be able to tell him, “If you’re firing Comey ’cause you think you’re gonna quiet things down, that’s not gonna happen, Sir.”

There’s a lot of progress in the Trump agenda that’s happened, but nobody’s hearing about it ’cause of this stuff. And I think on the agenda side, Trump is having major successes and has the opportunity for much, much more. And if he really wants to nail these people, if he really wants to stick it to ’em, do it there. Focus on get thing these tax cuts through there. Congress says, “Why, we can’t go to taxes! We’re distracted with the Russian investigation.”

Ah, you’re not distracted with the Russian investigation. You want to be distracted by it! Force it on ’em. You’re the guy that’s gonna drain the swamp. Go in there and drain it. Tell ’em what’s gonna be what-for. You don’t have to tell them why you fired Comey. Nobody deserves an explanation of the timing or anything else. He can fire whoever he wants! It’s the executive branch! He doesn’t owe anybody an explanation, and he doesn’t have to go defensive with it.

1. Can do both. Not mutually exclusive.
2. Agenda coming along just fine, thank you.
3. Don’t need advice from Rio Linda.

No he’s not, and I thought Rush “got” Trump.

Every day Trump tweets out pieces of “cheese” that the fake news media then chase around through the maze for a day or two.

Meanwhile, the President just marches along with his agenda. Monday 10 judicial appointees, today, Ex O on voter fraud commission. Every day, more and more. And the fake news media is so busy with “muh Russia” that they don’t even notice.

It’s brilliant-—total Robert E. Lee deception, called a “demonstration.”

If I am not mistaken Mark Steyn substitutes for him.

And those are the only times I tune in anymore. Someday, some smart business person is gonna give Steyn a permanent radio gig.

Rush is not right here. He still doesn't get the full and unabridged Trump. NOT so cutting edge of him.

Rush's point is well taken however, feel certain POTUS is aware of all this.

About the Russians meddling in our and others elections, is probably more due to propaganda being planted by the Russians than anything else....surely our newspapers, Media and pundits are not that false in their reporting all by themselves; who raised the question of race after Obama came in and blaming racism on anyone who didn't agree with whatever the news for the day was/is.....propaganda is as successful a weapon as Political Correctness is AND we are bombarded with both daily...the country, nation wide, is more divided now than anytime in our history...If Russia is behind this hateful propaganda that has so divided us that our Democratic change of administrations cannot proceed...then the Russians have Won!

I disagree. Bush never watched the news and never fought back. Trump works harder than any president ever, and still watches the news because he needs to know what people out there are hearing so he can fight back. And he does it brilliantly. Trump understands they are the enemy and calls them out. I also think he gets ideas from some of the smart people he hears like Newt, Gorka, etc. that he wouldn’t get from filtered staff reports.

Yep.

I mainly check out the so-called giants to hear if someone is substituting for them. If so, I usually listen, especially if it is someone of the caliber of Mark Steyn.

“Bush never watched the news and never fought back.”

Because he was a Swamp Creature, part of the controlled NO-position.

I held my nose for him in 2000; I gave my nostrils full freedom to vent fire in 2004: a globalist neocon traitor.

We are in the minority. It appears many want our president to get into petty arguments all day instead of just here and there.

They misread in that they think this doens’t throw trump off or upset him or set up the potential for him to say something he REALLY doesn’t want to say.

Every now and then? Fine.

But like Rush said, why get yourself upset ALL the time

you the ####ing POTUS you have better thing to do.

Let Bannon do the attacking.

I disagree with you there.

As mentioned above, it’s part of the strategy. With just 140 characters, the President makes the enemy go absolutely bonkers, taking them out of commission for a day.

And that still leaves the President 23 hours 59 minutes and 30 seconds left in the day to get on with the work of We the People, unbothered by the media.

(Not to mention it’s great for the morale of his supporters.)
