If Comey told Trump he's not being investigated, then Comey has to concede that Trump did not fire him with the intent of stopping an investigation

I think the Dilbert guy is correct: Trump knows he's at least kinda right, and maybe he is in fact completely right, about this "three times" stuff, even if the rest of us can't find a source right now. But what is happening right now is that everybody is "raising questions" about it, and the phrase "not being investigated" is being discussed (by those people who are "raising questions", and by Rush and others discussing those people who are "raising questions", and by people reading Rush and others who are discussing those people who are "raising questions", that lived in the house that Jack built) and that is what is going to stick in people's minds.

I mean, why would Trump put that in there if it’s not true?...yes, one thing we know for sure now is that Comey and the FBI haven't come up with anything on Trump, or Comey never would have been fired - Trump would have kept him around to keep him happy and make sure a resentful Comey didn't spill everything he knew to the press - anonymously of course......

If Trump talked with Comey three times, like when he praised him and shook his hand, even.
And Comey did not say “I’m investigating you”.
Is that kind of like ‘three times you informed me I’m not under investigation?’
In Hillary-speak it would be.
