Jimmy Kimmel returned to his late-night show after a week-long absence Monday, where he used his monologue to update his audience on the health of his newborn son and confront those who criticized his widely-watched monologue on the subject during a broadcast last week.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host unloaded on Republican lawmakers in his first monologue back Monday, and called on Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La) to explain why the vast majority of Republican politicians are against Americans having health care coverage.
But before that, Kimmel addressed the reaction he received after he made an emotional plea last week for health care coverage for pre-existing conditions, and revealed his newborn son was born with a congenital heart defect and needed open-heart surgery. The late-night host acknowledged one Washington Times headline that read: Shut up, Jimmy Kimmel, you elitist creep.
I cannot count the number of times Ive been called an out of touch Hollywood elitist creep this week, Kimmel said. Which, I have to say, I kind of appreciate because when I was a kid we had to drink powdered milk because we couldnt afford the liquid My dream was to become an out of touch Hollywood elitist, and I guess it came true.
I would like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care, he went on, sarcastically. It was insensitive. It was offensive, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
Next, Kimmel took aim at Newt Gingrich, who criticized the hosts monologue last week when he said that all hospitals in the United States help children before asking for payment.

Been boycotting Hollyweird for 30 or more years!
What a jerk.
“explain why the vast majority of Republican politicians are against Americans having health care coverage.”
That’s simple, they don’t need it. All they have to do is show up at a hospital ER and wait to be treated whether they can pay for it or not. Then the lost costs will be covered by the people that can pay for it with huge bills. Hundreds of people do this every day. It equates to welfare. So Kimmel falls under the catagory of the idiots as he obviously did not research this when he made his comments. Like I said, simple.

He's just an ignorant smartass who isn't interested in knowing what he's talking about.
Kimmel cheated on his wife then brought unfunny actress/comedian girlfriend on his show multiple time I guess to show his wife and kids how low he could go.
He has a show that could be entertaining if he wants but he like the others on late night tv want to be like David Letterman.
“He’s just an ignorant smartass who isn’t interested in knowing what he’s talking about.”
He’s a product of the liberal machine in that he only knows what he is told by a lying media and has his writers write him a response.
Years ago a responsible person was held accountable and expected to be responsible for acting in a manner that didn’t require apologies. And apologies are not always an acceptable way of erasing things. He is supposed to be an adult and he is supposed to have a command of the language as a talk show host. But I guess working for Disney creates a free pass in being a good and responsible person since they aren’t either and produce information that some times does more than stretch the truth.

His rating are down down down.
Whatever that was, it wasn’t any sort of an apology ...

You don’t have to tell me! I was born in, and other than my time in the Army, will ALWAYS live in Wisconsin. We. Know. Milk.
...and butter, cheese, yogurt, etc. :)
BUT - powdered milk is good to have on hand if you’re stuck in a blizzard, or if TSHTF in a Big Way.
It’s a ‘Prepper’ staple.
I heard that...love Mike Gallagher! Listen to him every morning.
Was listening to him on the radio in NYC when 9/11 happened; he said, we have to evacuate...
Would love to meet him someday.
