Jimmy Kimmel returned to his late-night show after a week-long absence Monday, where he used his monologue to update his audience on the health of his newborn son and confront those who criticized his widely-watched monologue on the subject during a broadcast last week.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host unloaded on Republican lawmakers in his first monologue back Monday, and called on Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La) to explain why the vast majority of Republican politicians are against Americans having health care coverage.
But before that, Kimmel addressed the reaction he received after he made an emotional plea last week for health care coverage for pre-existing conditions, and revealed his newborn son was born with a congenital heart defect and needed open-heart surgery. The late-night host acknowledged one Washington Times headline that read: Shut up, Jimmy Kimmel, you elitist creep.
I cannot count the number of times Ive been called an out of touch Hollywood elitist creep this week, Kimmel said. Which, I have to say, I kind of appreciate because when I was a kid we had to drink powdered milk because we couldnt afford the liquid My dream was to become an out of touch Hollywood elitist, and I guess it came true.
I would like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care, he went on, sarcastically. It was insensitive. It was offensive, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
Next, Kimmel took aim at Newt Gingrich, who criticized the hosts monologue last week when he said that all hospitals in the United States help children before asking for payment.

F*ck you Jimmy Kimmel.
You’re not on Obamacare!
You’re not being CRUSHED by the rising costs!
You’re not losing your business because of RED TAPE!
Screw you!
But that’s what liberals do Jimmy. You never want a serious crisis to go to waste, especially if you can make political points with it.
May his son have a long and healthy life.
Actually, Jimmy, powdered milk is more expensive than the real milk.
(Prayers that Kimmel's baby boy continues to do well.)
Yes, typical TV liberal.
[Im sorry people realized my hidden intent.]
And there you have it.
Regards,
That's good! Mind if I steal it?
Regards,
Kimmel was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in the neighborhood of Mill Basin as the eldest of three children of Joan (née Iacono), a homemaker, and James John Kimmel, an IBM executive.

So the family of an IBM executive was so poor they couldn't afford liquid milk???
His dad was an IBM executive. I’m skeptical of the powdered milk story.
I read the headline and thought
“Oh that’s cool- maybe i judged the man too soon- Maybe He’s redeemed himself”-
but then i read the article and thought
“Nope- same old elitist jerk he’s always been- I shoulda known better”
He was so poor he drank powdered milk. Hahahahaha
Somebody tweet this BS. His dad was an IBM executive hahahahahaha.
He was so deprived. Oh my. What a fing loser
Too late loser.
Nobody is going to forget you tossed your son on the political pyre. I don’t even have words to describe how disgusting I find this.
Perhaps someone could post a pic of the world's tiniest violin.
Worst "apology" ever.
Lots of us drank powdered milk, Jimmy.
I guess now you can afford the good stuff.
Mill Basin is an affluent residential neighborhood in New York City in the southern portion of the borough of Brooklyn...

(P.S. I hope the baby ends up being OK. We cant fault the baby for his parentage.)
Very well said, Diana. And you are right....Jimmy may be a Hollywood ... so and so ... but I certainly hope and pray that little baby makes it. An innocent soul... that is the real point of this. Jimmy just feels like he has to score political points, but most FReepers can see the big picture, which is the health of that tiny little one.
Thank you for the reminder, and God Bless.... :)
Of course!
To produce it, they have to start with fresh milk, then incur additional processing costs.
A woman called into Mike Gallagher show yesterday. She told him she is from New York. She said the hospital Kimmel’s son was in, does not accept Obamacare insurance patients. Mike was going to check it out to see if indeed this was so.
Must have taken a week to get his meds straightened out...
