James Comey’s Testimony on Huma Abedin Forwarding Emails Was Inaccurate

Huma Abedin — Weiner’s wife and a top Clinton deputy — had made “a regular practice” of forwarding “hundreds and thousands” of Clinton messages to her husband, “some of which contain classified information.” Comey testified that Abedin had done this so that the disgraced former congressman could print them out for her boss. (Weiner’s laptop was seized after he came under criminal investigation for sex crimes, following a media report about his online relationship with a teenager.)

The problem: Much of what Comey said about this was inaccurate. Now the FBI is trying to figure out what to do about it.

FBI officials have privately acknowledged that Comey misstated what Abedin did and what the FBI investigators found. On Monday, the FBI was said to be preparing to correct the record by sending a letter to Congress later this week. But that plan now appears on hold, with the bureau undecided about what to do.

Furthermore, classified emails cannot be transmitted or stored on mobile devices such as a BB.

Do you mean because there is a law or directive that says they can't or it can't be done?

He may be a bit of a screw-up but I suspect the main reason that Comey is being hammered today is that he revealed real criminality by Huma & Weiner, thereby undermining the Left’s narrative that there was nothing there and that it was all a right-wing plot to keep her out of the White House. In other words, if Comey was correct, the crowds chanting “lock her up!” were on to something and not crazy at all. Therefore, he must be taken down. That said, just because the Left does not like him is not a particularly good reason for keeping him around.

“Comey offered a partial clarification, telling the Texas senator [Cruz, who asked why Huma hadn’t been indicted, since what Comey described was a clear violation of the statue}: “If I said that, I misspoke. She forwarded hundreds and thousands of emails, some of which contain classified information.” Comey agreed both Abedin and Weiner “potentially” might have committed a crime but said the FBI found no basis for concluding either had acted with criminal intent. Comey said the FBI had been unable to discuss the matter with Weiner “because he has pending criminal problems of other sorts.”

Comey got caught telling the truth, which was in conflict with the story cooked up by Hillary’s defense team (aka the DoJ and FBI), that the files were synched to the Wiener-top automatically from a BlackBerry. (Oh, she wasn’t deliberately sending the files in some secured way to Weiner to print out — she was unwittingly broadcasting them via Bluetooth. Because that’s so much better...).

Someone please explain why the FBI cannot interview Weiner about this case, just because he is in trouble for other crimes. If someone is charged with murder, the FBI couldn’t interview them about a bank robbery? Total BS. These people are just laughing on our faces.

When I took the training course for when I had a clearance, it was stipulated that classified materials should not be on or transmitted to a phone, regardless of encryption. As well, electronic devices such as phones are not permitted into SCiFs were classified material would be viewed and discussed. If a phone could hold classified material, then they wouldn’t prevent you from taking a phone in a SCiF.

Other than J. Edger Hoover who sought out media attention, can anyone name the last FBI director besides Comey that was a household name.

Ask Comey why that is...?

Why would they be printed
at all? Where have the
printed copies ended up?
I once possessed a Secret
clearance. All documents
I dealt with could only be
viewed with an approved
witness present (in a secured room).
None of the documents
were allowed to be printed
without the threat of imprisonment,
even if there is no intent
to do harm.

Sounds more like FBI is scrambling because Comey said it correctly....over incorrectly

If Trump and Sessions think Congress is going to do ANYTHING they are smoking some wacky-baccy. Session needs to appoint a special prosecutor for Huma and the unmasking scandal which is the most damning of all the crap floating out of DC.

If they can confront Comey with a Perjury charge they can get him to resign immediately. He can then be fired for cause. Problem is Congress has no intention of getting to Comey or anyone else for that matter. They don’t ask the correct questions and this seems to be purposeful. No one can be that stupid but they are trying.

George Webb covered this Blackberry backup thing. I’m not smart enough to get it.

***************

What he talks about is "Blackberry Enterprise Server" ... it can run on a server , desktop or laptop and when it finds a blackberry through it's local wireless connection it sync's the message database by downloading what's on the Blackberry device and I suppose uploading what is lacking on that device... no direct wired communication means no NSA intercept... it's a sneaky way to allow anyone with a registered blackberry device to get all of your email without you sending it to them...you can claim you did nothing... and Hillary had dozens of Blackberry's which were handed out to donors...

Most email clients for home use, like Outlook, have a means to save/archive emails to a hard drive although users are increasingly being encouraged to use subscription cloud storage. Most mid to large companies might have an auto archive, but the ones I’ve worked in wipe emails after a period, usually 90 days, and expect individual employees to manually save emails to hard drive or shared drive if necessary. Of course, services like Gmail are different. Bottom line is that it is all but certain the Clinton cabal were not sending emails to Huma’s phone for storage. Makes zero sense.

Meanwhile, yet more completely worthless Trump-Russia hearings in the “GOP-controlled” Senate, rather than working on the Trump agenda. Democrats are the opposition party. The Republicans are the enemy.

OH YES, “misstatement” is a liberal word for lying! No doubt that this vocabulary should be added to perjury!

It’s a felony to print out top secret documents at the State Department. Someone might notice if Huma Abedin tried to smuggle it out in her socks.

Plus, once the information is in paper form, there is no longer an electronic audit trail that the NSA can follow. So, plausible deniability when 17 foreign governments all have their own copies later.

So what’s the solution then? It’s the peoples expense so where’s the outcry?

I think it is just a mirror held up to American society and culture today. My suspicion is that American society...and Western Civilization as a whole for that matter...has become the most corrupt society in the entire history of the world. I think the “solution,” such as it is, is the new dark age...what happens when civilizations collapse.

The outcry...I don’t even think that enough people care even one iota for there to be an outcry. Certainly the tiny cohort that thinks as people tend to on this site cares, but that’s not enough to even ripple the pond. They’ll care when the grocery store shelves are empty and they have to wheel their money around in the carts.
