It's long past the time for Christians in the United States to ask themselves if their country is even worth defending anymore.
The article does not recount Green’s pronouncements that gathered the concentrated opposition. Here are some of them as noted in the US Defense Watch blog last Friday:

If you poll the psychiatrists, theyre going to tell you transgender is a disease, Green said at a Chattanooga Tea Party event last September.
Last September, Green stated that a stand needed to be taken against the indoctrination of Islam in public schools.
Green is also under fire for referring to the Muslim horde that invaded Turkey and Southeastern Europe 500 years ago.

I don’t disagree with a word he said. These pronouncements are not those of somebody who has plans for a higher or further political office. In the thread linked above, I posted the following:
“A politician who should know better was very impolitic in his public remarks. Giving the roaring crowd red meat remarks can be satisfying in the moment but it always comes with a price. This time the price was a man who could have brought some badly needed reality and common sense wont advance to that position where he could have made a difference. Giving the enemy the tools to take you down is not good tactics.”
There aren’t 50 votes in the Senate to confirm him.
What Republican senators would vote against him and do you have proof?
Another example where Trump needs to be held to his promises. He is doing some great things, but he shouldn’t be given a blank check.

With his vocal criticism of LGBT and Muslims? Not hard to predict those who would vote him down at all. McCain has already called the nomination "very concerning" and I don't think he would have voted to confirm: Link. Collins and Murkowski are on the committee as well and I doubt either one would vote for him. In the Senate as a whole I doubt Graham or Flake would. So that's five right there.
Too bad he won’t.
I am one PO’d puppy these days.
What have they done to the Trump I voted for?
If it was Green’s decision then Trump can’t really make him take the job.
Huh?
Laugh AT THEM ANd then Carry On
there ya go
Because PC is less popular here. If we coalesce behind a single Conservative with a divided field of barely-concealed leftist Democrats running as Republicans, we can finally get one into the Governor’s office.
He went off to Australia for a year after he was Governor. I wish he had stayed there.
