"I wonder how that compares to how many people got hit by lightning.
Doesn't matter if you're the one bit and infected, or struck by a bolt. I have 7 family members in Western Kentucky infected by the tic borne Alfa-Gal desease. Very nasty, and rare.

Oh I’ve met a landscaper who had that (I’m in MO), he lost all his muscle mass and almost died b/c nobody had heard of it. Terrible thing.
He’s made a good recovery.
