The Trump administration is launching its four-month review of 27 large national monuments designated since 1996 under the Antiquities Act, including two controversial monuments in Utah.
That review formally kicks off this weekend with Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's arrival in Utah to investigate Bears Ears National Monument, designated by President Barack Obama just a few weeks before he left office, and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.
At the urging of Utah's political leaders, President Donald Trump ordered the review April 26, when he called out Bears Ears as a "land grab" that should not have happened.

Aw, poor BBB, you guys gotta get all the way to San Diego to learn how to ride a lil ol’ pony?
My Montana rodeo cowboy Dad had me on horses ‘bout as soon as I could walk.
You askeered of them broncs there big boy? Bet you get lots of riding working in town there at what, the university?
I’m sure Mr. Rhinestone Zinke did lots of buckin’ horse riding when he was playing football in Oregon and humpin’ it down the beach at La Jolla.
President Trump is reviewing this...which I am supporting of...
Local Indians ( Ute Tribe and others ) graze their sheep on these lands and do not want to be shut out by Federal bureaucrats.
-2- Great American lie that all tribes are for Bears Ears NM.
by Darren Parry : Vice Chairman, Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation.
I was riding horses as a kid, we ran lots of cattle, too. Tough but fun times.
BTW, I got my BS at Oregon and my Masters a MSU.
Had several fraternity Bros on the U of O football team. It’s a good program.
I you don’t like Zinke, super! He was a better choice than Juneau.
That may be true but he's got one Big, Glaring problem for a guy from Montana:
Zinke broke with most Republicans on the issue of transfers of federal lands to the states, calling such proposals "extreme" and voting against them.[44] In July 2016, Zinke withdrew as a delegate to the Republican nominating convention in protest of a plank in the party's draft platform which would require that "certain" public lands be transferred to state control. Zinke said that he endorses "better management of federal land" rather than transfer
He withdrew as a delegate over this?
It's the central issue in the West next to Mexican illegal immigration and Water rights. I don't know of ANY credible Republicans who disagree with the idea of returning the land to the States.
Means all that time in the Navy he turned into just another Federal apparatchik. Which means all the other talk may just be hot air, and he just wanted to be the Big Man when he came home to Whitefish.
He seems to be on the right side of God with respect to reviewing the monument status. Now he needs to go the distance: let the States take the land and sell it all off as private, developable land. FedGov and the BLM don't need any of it, they proved over the last 45 years that it was a mistake to let them have control. Specifically, the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 has to be repealed and start over.
I’m sure if Redford and the other libtards made even the slightest effort they could find hundreds, no, thousannds of India Indians to support the monuments.
Which begs another question: Why is it when the government makes a decision in favor of the “Indian” religion the libtards totally support it. But if a proposal is made that even tangentially benefits the Christian religion it violates the First Amendment?
I don’t know, it’s not fair I know that...
Ya. You are SO correct!
Montana has only one congress-critter.
Zinke offends you so much. Next time I’ll vote gun grabber democrat -— for YOU!
Seems like you do not live in MY state, but absolutely know whats best for us 4th generation Montanans.
I was going to vote for Greg Gianforte, but now I will switch my vote to Quist - isn’t that right?
After all, Gianforte has more baggage than Zinke!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prick.
Well then turn off your computer and watch Mayberry.
Not like you post anything negative about anything or anybody.
OH NOSE NOT YOU......Hypocrite
Can’t respond to a comment without going full high school with your language, huh kid?
You might have noticed your buddy Zinke a) Is now the Interior Secretary, where he can do real damage with his dimbulb opinions and b) is well known not to have actually lived in Montana when he was a Congressman but instead apparently lived in Santa Barbara (it’s warmer there).
Item a is the real concern. We didn’t need a stealth Democrat in that position.
Item b is merely indicative of a guy who’s running a scam and not at all who he portrays himself to be.
But, he’s got the gullible (like you) all wrapped up, so...
Hello is that you Glenn Beck
