That’s incredible man. Screw the local govt.

And you’re right about the Asians.

They have mostly moved out of black areas and into the italian and irish ones.

They know the deal.

That’s why it gets me very mad when I see asian congressmen siding with the black caucus.

They are not victims. They’re a success story but some want to play victim.

BTW, I have NO IDEA where the asians live :)

Lots of stores but none on the north or south side!! :)

NOLA.com is Landrieu’s righthand newspaper. Boots on the ground say there was hardly a whimper from the ANTIFA and Take Them Down. Most support was for the monuments, that’s where the crowd was. Folks as far away as Canada were there to join the monument support groups. There was also a report that ANTIFA called in a bomb threat to the Entergy building last night that is located near Lee Circle.

There no longer is a New Orleans, it’s as dead as Julius Caeser.

Yeah, it's shaping up that way. About twenty years ago, I heard Jimmy Buffett refer to New Orleans as "The Mother City of the Caribbean". When you think about the tenuous grip that the Spanish and later, the French had on the activities there through the late 1700s, it's little wonder that the place was like a huge extension of Tortuga.

The city is devolving back to its pre-Louisiana Purchase roots.

No, we’re at the point fiscally where mass layoffs of municipal workers are in order - so we have smaller government (like much of the rest of the country)

Newark has no hope; it can’t compete with other cities with more to offer and less to fear. Jersey City in particular is doing well by comparison.

Outside of the airport and rail hub, there is no reason for most people to ever visit Newark.

Some Asians thought they’d make an easy buck venturing into the ghettoes and selling overpriced merchandise in exchange for the taxpayer dollars wasted on public assistance there (see Michael Brown’s original target); they just don’t know how to secure their assets from thievery.

Where do you stand on this egregious attempt to destroy the history of this country, Timpanagos1? I’ve thought for a long time that you do not belong here, that you’re just trying to agitate FReepers into posting replies that you can then run to leftist sites to point out in mock horror, much in the same way that the SPLC manufactures Klan porn to frighten elderly Jewish people into sending them more money.

If you were to read my posts, you would have a rather clear view of my stance on the issue.

Last Sunday in went to the protest at Lee Circle and chose not to participate as there were elements in the protest group who had symbols on their body or closing that would indicate that there were adherents to a White Power philosophy.

I would have never attempted to attend a protest to protect the Monument at Liberty Place in New Orleans. That monument should have been removed years ago.

Back to the protest at Lee Circle. It did not appear that may people protesting the removal of the three remaining monuments were from New Orleans, Many may have been from parishes around New Orleans, but few were actually from New Orleans. Moreover, away from the protests, and in and around New Orleans, I did not encounter any city resident who had a strong opinion on the matter. However, when I’m areas outside of the city, I did find people that object to their removal.

Apparently, the plan is to remove the remaining monuments and relocate them to a place where they can still be viewed in their historical context, but not be identified on monuments. Therefore, the statues are not being destroyed.

Without question, the decision to remove/relocate the statues was a political decision by the New Orleans City Council and with all political decisions there are consequences. Once consequence could be that the next city council decides to replace the Confederate Monuments.

However, those monuments belong to the city of New Orleans and it is entirely their decision as what will happen not and in the future with the statutes.

Calling names does not make an argument. You do it so frequently, that you must think it persuasive.

What are you? The hall monitor. Some people (i.e. Liberals) are not worth the respect of a normal conversation. They will never receive from me the respect they do not deserve. They need to find another site to pollute.

God, how pathetic.

I bet you've been sitting by the keyboard hitting refresh, refresh, refresh hoping that the site could come back up so you could prove what a spineless loser you are.

Because there is the distinct possibility that you're suffering from senile dementia I'll remind you that those were your own words to me from a previous thread. Only in your case were they appropriate.

Have a really special day there ohio and welcome back!

Even from way up here in Ohio it is easy to see your open distaste for Southerners (even though they make up a good portion of our loyal conservative base). To be disliked by you, I wear as a badge of honor.
