FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. North Carolina police say they're investigating the possible suicide of an Army veteran charged with shooting her service dog as she laughed.
Fayetteville Police Lt. Todd Joyce said Sunday investigators believe that 23-year-old Marinna Rollins killed herself. Joyce declined to explain what evidence detectives found. He says police were called to her apartment early Sunday after her body was found by friends.
Rollins and 25-year-old Jarren Heng were charged last month with cruelty to animals after investigators say they tied the dog to a tree and shot it multiple times with a rifle.

Yeah......
Nice piercings. Ugh
What a sad wasted life-severe mental issues and/or drugs no doubt which go hand in hand. Glad she didn’t kill anyone else.
Damn skank. Burn in hell.
Never saw jewelry on the bridge of the nose before. I’m guessing she had a ring in the lower lip, as well.
This individual was violent cold mental case. It’s no surprise she’s now dead by suicide. A thread a weak or two ago, there were actually several people on there who actually saw nothing wrong with this person drinking alcohol and then taking the dog out, tying to a GD tree and shooting it multiple times as she made humorous quips and laughed...All while she live streamed the entire event for all to see.
Very sad. Some Soldiers experience or witness things that shock them to the core. Some never do regain their balance or peace of mind. I don’t know if she was always ‘unpredictable’, or became this way after her service. I was not there. When I saw those photos of two people laughing over a dog’s killing, I figured at least one of them was not in their right mind at the time. The other may have just been drunk or high enough to numb their better judgement.
Rest in peace, daughter of Christ.
Doesn’t seem like she was always like this. Pretty sad actually.
“wonder if she was assigned to Iraq/Afghanistan. If so it’s possible she had some kind of PTSD given these two acts. “
Bullcrap. Combat is no excuse for that. IF she ever saw combat, which a really doubt.
I’d say it’s the same girl. Mugshots rarely show a person’s best side.
Yep...Trying to tie this into the military issue is BS based on other stories indicating she wanted to get rid of the dog and was in a divorce deal. Her husband allegedly wanted the dog so she was getting back at him. It appears she simply killed the dog as an act of revenge against her former husband.
She was a violent mental case, complete with an AR tattooed across her chest like she was playing rambo.
If she was assigned to either country she saw *danger* if not "combat".Killing a dog and then *yourself* suggests a very deeply disturbed woman.
I served during the Vietnam *era* but, unlike many of that era,was never ordered to SE Asia. However, several guys who I got to know back then *did* go to Vietnam and told me stories that would make the hair on your toes curl.Ditto a guy I grew up with who was a Marine in Khe Sanh in '68.
Until I know more about her background and her neuropsyciatric state I'm not prepared to label her a pig for killing the dog *and* herself.
Yeah, she joined the Army in 2014, I doubt she even left the USA.
That sounds about right. And I don’t like the most depraved acts at home being blamed on someone’s service days. Its a cop out. And maybe she heard a mortar once or twice, or knew someone who died.
But she never went through an Iwo Jima, or a Hue, or a Hurtgen Forest. And funny thing, the guys who really did never acted like this.
Too bad the dog had to die.
