SEOUL, South Korea North Korea has announced it detained another American citizen over unspecified hostile acts against the country.
North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency said Sunday that Kim Hak Song had worked for the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology before he was held on Saturday.

No kidding.
Anyone who doesn’t have enough common sense to stay out of this godforsaken place deserves what they are getting. If you are in a den with rattlers sooner or later expect to be bitten.
Why are there American citizens in North Korea anyway?
Some are actually outright kidnapped. Taken from China and held on Pyongyang against their wills
“WTF are any Americans in NK!”
Yes, and for that matter, WTF are any Americans doing in Iran? Or any other country ( say like Venezuela ) that’s being ruled by a despot who hates America.
These people are nuts, and they are needlessly creating diplomatic problems. For once and for all, the government needs to make it crystal clear when our citizens go to these places that they are on their own. Seems like teachers and those “spreading the Gospel” think that somehow their “calling” is higher than their own safety.
“..a federal court needs to issue a travel ban.”
The can’t! And if they could, it would be another unlawful act.
Not necessarily. Why are Americans even in NK?
They are not victims they are useful idiots. How special of this one to go teach at a NK university...for what good purpose?
Insanity does not require my sympathy
That was not the case here
Pretty stupid to go to North Korea.
Yes, it's where all your stupidest, silliest, most dishonest & treacherous class of people go to kick up their cloven hooves!
Amen. No sympathy. The risk involved is hardly a state secret. If travel to Cuba was banned, why not North Korea?
Time for special envoy Dennis Rodman to be dispatched.
