Trump Protects Religious Liberty

President Trump’s executive order on religious liberty has garnered a mixed reaction, with the left moaning about violations of the separation of church and state and some of the right saying it is watered down meaningless rhetoric to placate his religious base, As Ryan T. Anderson at the Daily Signal opines:

In reality, what Trump issued today is rather weak. All it includes is general language about the importance of religious liberty, saying the executive branch “will honor and enforce” existing laws and instructing the Department of Justice to “issue guidance” on existing law; directives to the Department of the Treasury to be lenient in the enforcement of the Johnson Amendment; and directives to the secretaries of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services (HHS) to “consider issuing amended regulations” to “address conscience-based objections” to the HHS contraception mandate.

In reality, what Trump issued is more significant than appears on the surface. It ends the official hostility of government to all things religious

that was part of the Obama administration’s “fundamental transformation of America.” This is no small thing, and means that the likes of the Little Sisters of the Poor will not be dragged into court to fight for the religious liberty the Constitution guarantees them. Modifying regulations to honor religious conscience is significant, as is the directive not to enforce the Johnson Amendment, which forbids priests and pastors from disagreeing from the pulpit with government encroachment of our liberties. This is significant and, until the Johnson Amendment, is repealed will do quite nicely.

Critics like Anderson seem to ignore Trump’s placing of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.

A journey of a thousand miles...

Or, why should only “Progressives” think in terms of progress?

I agree. For those who can only see the dark cloud above the silver lining ask yourself, What would Hillary do?

Now that he’s done the EO, he can work longer term to get legislation to overturn the Johnson Amendment.

The Executive Order language is so weak that it can be easily twisted, and the EO does not include any consequences or penalty if the Deep State vermin within the bowels of the federal bureaucracy completely ignore or pervert the EO.

He promised an Obamacare repeal. I don’t think he’s going to get it. But he may allow us to opt out if we want by citing religion. I think that’s what this is leading to.

Aren’t muslims already allowed to opt out because of religion? And the Amish, also?

Atheism is a religion = a belief system. Why do they feel they are ‘free’ to disparage and deny other religions that freedom?

Yielding to atheists’ pressure, a city council in Pennsylvania unanimously voted to remove a park bench that was meant to honor veterans after an atheist group objected to the presence of a biblical inscription on the bench.

You are correct, and you know what? I wished someone would file a law suit against the atheist for taking our rights away.

True. That is the filthy little secret of the ACLU Marxists who are forcing their satanic religion on us and our children.

There IS NO separation of Church and State——the concept ASSUMES that you can take FAITH OUT OF EVERY IDEA——NO. YOU CAN”T. Most ideas promote a faith (a worldview/religion). Sodomy promotion promotes a REMOVAL of TRUTH/BIOLOGY and science and Christianity for irrational, dysfunctional, unnatural, filthy, disease-causing, nihilistic behaviors.

Why can the schools promote sodomy and baby-killing in our schools? It is promotion of satanism and paganism and Islam, etc. and it is antithetical to the Constitution —the Supreme Law which is embedded with Natural Laws and Natural Duties to raise own children—not have the State raise and shape our children.

A faith is being promoted by a “Just” (lol) Law which promotes “homosexual” “marriage”——an irrational, vile, unnatural, dysfunctional BEHAVIOR and LIFESTYLE which is ANTITHETICAL to Natural Law (the Constitution) and to Christianity (the embedded ethic system in our “Justice” (virtue) system. The STATE is FORCING SATANISM on us-—or Marxism or paganism or Humanism-—take your pick of irrational ideologies-—all which defy the Constitution (Natural Law Theory—the basis of our Constitution and Lockean philosophy. It also removes “Right Reason” from just law for irrational utopianism of Marxism.

IOW, it is Stalin’s Constitution which is being forced on us and Stalin’s Worldview (religion) being forced onto our children in publik skools-—as is with “welfare” system and the Marxist “income tax” etc. We have “judges” that need to be impeached for throwing out our Constitution for Stalin’s.
