The Patriots may be willing to kick in some support.

Local Boston stations were saying that if his convictions become "null & void" the Patriots may be required,by law,to pay his estate bonus money that his conviction allowed them to refuse to pay.I guess he's got a kid.Also,you can be sure that his lawyers will want a big piece of any money that might be forthcoming.

He had started an appeal on his conviction. Because the appeal was not over, that whole case and conviction was null and void.

In his most recent trial his lawyer put the blame on his friend for the shooting and he got off.

The Pats may owe his estate a pile of money in any case. I believe they withheld $2.5M that was supposed to be paid as a deferred portion of his signing bonus, and I’ve seen a number of lawyers suggest that they were on very shaky legal ground there.
