High-flying playground hoops legend James “Fly” Williams was charged as a drug kingpin whose crew sold 2 million vials of heroin on the Brooklyn streets of his youth.
Williams, a one-time college basketball star and ABA washout, was one of 13 people arrested for selling the drug in Bushwick, Flatbush, Fort Greene and his native Brownsville, officials said Thursday --SNIP-- The 64-year-old Williams and his crew “had no consideration of the harm suffered by so many from the dangerous narcotics they allegedly peddled,” said Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

There are some hilarious Fly Williams anecdotes in the book “Loose Balls” about the old American Basketball Association. Calling him a bizarre character would be an understatement.
