Five years after his death sparked international dialog about racism, social justice and community policing, Trayvon Martin will be honored for the industrial ambitions he held as a teenager growing up in Sanford, FL. Florida Memorial University will posthumously award a bachelor’s of aeronautical science to Martin, to be received by his parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin during the school’s annual spring commencement ceremony on May 13.
Officials say the degree honors Martin’s life-long dream of becoming a pilot, and continues to highlight the family’s commitment to social justice. Martin’s parents, both social justice activists and co-founders of The Trayvon Martin Foundation, which is housed on the FMU campus.
“As we approach 50 years in Miami Gardens, this commencement holds a special place in all of our hearts. This academic year is symbolic of the transformative changes that we continue tomake to our academic programs that extend to benefit the community, such as our Cybersecurity degree program and Cyber Warrior Diversity center that offers certificates to local residents and professionals,” said Florida Memorial President Roslyn Clark-Artis. “Of special significance is awarding posthumously the Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation to Trayvon Martin. Sybrina, our alum, epitomizes strength and dignity as she uplifts other victims of violence while effecting change for a more equal and just society.”
Florida Memorial University is also one of four universities nationally designated as a CESSNA pilot center.

With a black (half black) man as POTUS and another as Attorney General, leftists needed something to keep America from going ‘post racial.’ Post racial costs them millions of secure votes. Americans would actually vote for a better economy and the worst hit from the Obama years were the African Americans being replaced with foreign cheap labor.
So the ‘police are out to get you’ lie was perpetrated to keep blacks in the victim mentality and reacting emotionally rather than voting their self interest.
What’s their self interest? Building a wall and expelling illegal aliens who are taking millions of low-skilled jobs. School choice where inner city kids could go to schools which might give them a chance to actually learn by introducing market forces into education.
Even Democrats admitted they had to ‘rile up’ the black voters to get out and vote.
Zimmerman, the white Hispanic, had his life basically destroyed. Had he been black, it’d have stayed ‘local news only.’ The Black Lives Matter folks don’t seem to care about blacks killing other blacks.
As a result of St. Treyvon, the DOJ created rules to stop ‘broken window policing.’ Instead of intervening, the cops sit back and wait until the bodies are there to be counted. Officers are required to wear cameras and to ‘rat out’ fellow officers or they can be held responsible for not reporting something. It’s created paranoia and mistrust among police. Therefore, we’ve seen Baltimore, Chicago, etc. have murder rates skyrocket.
Honoring a thug kid for assaulting someone and getting killed while doing so? Guess that’s about par for course these days for the left.
With a 4.2 gpa, and Magna Cum Laude.
And a NASA job as an astronaut.

Instead, Trayvon Martin initiated a tragic sequence of events by deciding that George Zimmerman needed a beatdown—which ultimately resulted in Zimmerman using deadly force while acting in lawful self-defense of the assault...

By race/ethnicity, 10 White, 1,050 Black, and 0 Asian students are attending at Florida Memorial University.
Point One: You can buy a Cessna Pilot Center.
Point Two: My son “Ace” (It’s a joke name) started flight lessons at 15 1/2. The “dream” started far earlier. Honoring Trayvon Martin is a minor crime and an insult to all the young men and women who fly professionally.
To receive a Bachelor’s of Aeronautical Science wouldn’t that person have to have a High School Diploma.
