The top Republican in the Senate on Tuesday rejected President Donald Trump's suggestion that his party change the chamber's rules to undercut the ability of Democrats to block legislation with filibusters.
"There is an overwhelming majority on a bipartisan basis that is not interested in changing the way the Senate operates on the legislative calendar," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters.

” ... the only solution is to vote in a 60 majority in the Senate.”
Even with sixty there would still be a handful of Yertle RINOs who prefer “bi-partisanship”, so their excuse then would be “We need 75 seats.” So perhaps then they demand 100 seats.
As long as they don’t want to do what America voted for last November, they will always have excuses. It’s always something for cuckservatives and their sycophants here.
Then the overwhelming majority of Americans who oppose this Bullcrap about their ridiculous privilege rules which have NO Constitutional standing need to remove all these clowns who are GOP incumbents.
Were the roles reversed, we have SEEN what the Democrats would do.
END THE RIDICULOUS CONGRESSIONAL AND SENATE PROCEDURAL RULES.
VOTE OUT AN INCUMBENT IN THE NEXT PRIMARY!!!
[You are correct. Ive seen a number of posts stating the only solution is to vote in a 60 majority in the Senate. While I admire their perpetual optimism, now is the time to drain the swamp before its too late.]
“We have the House, we need the Senate”
“We have the Senate, we need the Presidency”
“We have the Presidency, but we need a filibuster-proof majority”
Future meme:
“We have the filibuster-proof majority but our corporate donors call the shots”
McConJob & The RYNO Ryan ARE The Most Worthless Members Of The Republican Party!
Term limits! Term limits! Term limits!
Exactly!
Hey McConnell: 48 of that “majority” are dumblecrats....the rest are pansy rhinos....
[spit]
Get some BALLS, sir...get some balls.
Nope. It's like a Pez dispenser.
Primary one congresscritter and up pops another, hand-picked from the swamp no different from the first. Any "outsider" who manages to confound that process is swiftly dealt with (either by bringing in "ringers" to drain away votes, or by surreptitiously funneling $$ to the RAT candidate).
And the loser who got primaried? He/she gets a cushy K Street gig...
Fight for the repeal of the 17th Amendment. It was the beginning of the progressive era and trampled states rights.
mcconnell is such a castrato loser.
In fact, the Senate doesnt have the required supermajority to expel state sovereignty-ignoring members like Sen. Schumer.
Clause 2: Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member [emphasis added].
And I suspect that the corrupt Senate doesnt want to have a supermajority because a divided Senate probably makes it easier for the feds to not only help the House steal state powers, but also to use those stolen powers to oppress the states and their citizens.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!
Remember in November 18 !
Since Trump entered the 16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the 18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.
In fact, if Justice Gorsuch turns out to be a liberal Trojan Horse then we will need 67 patriot senators to remove a House-impeached Gorsuch from office.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February 18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
While I Googled the primary information above concerning Iowa and New Hampshire, FReeper iowamark brought to my attention that the February primaries for these states apply only to presidential election years. And after doing some more scratching, since primary dates for most states for 2018 elections probably havent been uploaded at this time (March 14, 2017), FReepers will need to find out primary dates from sources and / or websites in their own states.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal governments powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal governments limited powers listed below.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphasis added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Not interested in changing the way the Senate operates.
No sh*t the good old boy club took years to form they aren’t going to let anything stop them.Only the voter can drain the D.C. swamp but he non voter keeps the good old boy club in business.
Now he says that there is nothing they can do because this years budget is a continuation of last years budget. But next year we are going to prepare the budget correctly.
Aw c’mon, let’s attack him! Better yet, even though it’s the Senate, lets find a way to blame it on Ryan!
The master negotiator got 'rolled' while playing 3D Chess.
But he knows exactly what he is doing.
He has Ryan + Co exactly where he wants them.
I have no doubt that you are correct. Remember the date: 19 April, 1775.
Ryan had his hand over the camera lens.
Now he says that there is nothing they can do because this years budget is a continuation of last years budget. But next year we are going to prepare the budget correctly.
