As family and friends mourned the death of a 15-year-old boy shot in the head by a police officer in a Dallas suburb over the weekend, the police chief said Monday that new evidence showed the killing did not unfold the way the authorities had originally claimed.
The Police Department in Balch Springs, Tex., said Sunday that the officer, whose name has not been released, fired on a car carrying the teenager, Jordan Edwards, a freshman at Mesquite High School in Balch Springs, because the car was reversing down a street toward the officer in an aggressive manner.
But Jonathan Haber, the police chief, told reporters at a news conference on Monday afternoon that video showed the opposite.

The Family of the 15 year old made a statement and seems they are pushing for trouble no matter what the outcome is. So yes going to get bad all over
I see. What I didn’t see is where it says a first responder was murdered and a police officer shot.
Not looking good for BSPD:
So you know the rules, you know you broke the posting rules, and you still whine about it when the rule breaking post gets pulled?
Are you one of those liberaltarians that thinks the rules don't apply to them?
This is beginning to look like a bad kill. It will be interesting to see how this develops.
Gravity TOO
It's simple, just like I told ya above. No need to get wordy or kiss anyone's butt. One sentence is all it takes. This is not complex fimi.
I didn’t say that. Please reread my post.
the cop was still allowed to go on vacation for 9 days before he had to give an interview....not kidding...
The legal definition of homicide is “death at the hands of another”. Not all homicides are murder.
I didn’t know that.
It would have been wiser for the DPD spokesperson to have given the media a standard statement that simply said the police department is still doing an ongoing internal investigation, because it is the established requirement in these cases.
I’m not even criticizing the delay, but to use the term “decompress” is a ridiculous picture word, of maybe beach time under an umbrella.
Sure, it can. However just the fact of a car being in motion is used as the excuse to open fire. It’s like the dog-shooting fad of a couple of years ago. A lot of it is police training that makes deadly force very near to being the first option to be considered or another syndrome that was nipped after only a couple of incidents, of training for SWATs to kill everything that moves when they enter a house “for their own safety.”
According to the story he's been on the force for six years.
Why are the responses to this individual being censored?
Is there any reason? If so let me know and I’ll customize my points so that the easily offended and those who don’t care to read hard straight fact are not. Thanks.
Is there video?
FR took down the story.
Hmmm, I find if very inquisitive that this story was censored once before. I didn't know that. It's odd because several of my posts were censored here for no reason I could see. Is someone here connected to this story?
This seems a bit odd.
No, they'll actually attempt to interrogate you on the spot. It's why when questioned you don't say zip, expect "I will speak to counsel prior to taking questions". That's it.
