Congressional leaders have reached a deal to fund the government through the rest of the government's fiscal year, a congressional aide has confirmed to the Washington Examiner.
Republican and Democratic lawmakers agreed to a $1.070 trillion package to fund the government through September 30.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., praised the budget deal as a "good agreement for the American people" that "takes the threat of a government shutdown off the table."
"The bill ensures taxpayer dollars aren't used to fund an ineffective border wall, excludes poison pill riders, and increases investments in programs that the middle-class relies on, like medical research, education, and infrastructure,"
Schumer said in a statement. "Early on in this debate, Democrats clearly laid out our principles. At the end of the day, this is an agreement that reflects those principles."

...and in other news, the president said Kim Jong-un is a “pretty smart cookie” and he would be “honored” to meet with him.

Well, to be fair, the moment after I clicked the Post button, I realized I meant to word my "RINO establishment" point in the form of a question ("Could it be that, after only 100 days, ... I hope not!").

...and in other news, the president said Kim Jong-un is a pretty smart cookie and he would be honored to meet with him.Well, I dismissed all that as part of "the art of the deal" and he's just blowing smoke up Kim's fat arse. (And if Kim has any brains, he probably did, too.)

DONE - will never vote for a national level GOP again, rest of my short life. I tore up my "R" voter registration card in 2006 when Bush handed power over to the RATs in Congress.
Can anyone give me ONE reason I should vote "R" for anyone in congress? Don't give me that crap about "Wait until we work on the 2018 FY budget, then you will see action." I think I heard the same excuse back in Jan '17 with the passage of that CR - in fact I have been hearing this from the pubbies for the past SEVEN years.
The boy that cried wolf one too many times - I would suggest the GOP will lose both the House and Senate in 2018 with this history of performance. Does anyone think one iota will change when the GOP works on the GFY 2018 budget - It is clear the RATS are running Congress even though they lost the 2016 election big time.

This is a Trojan Horse — designed by the RINO Ryan
of Team Romney to destroy the reputation of Pres. Trump.

It would be nice if President Trump had a Republican congress he could work with instead of against.

I seriously do not understand this. While I can see the rollover for a one week extension last week, this budget deal here is complete slap in the face to Trump’s agenda. Unless he has some game plan to change this, how will he explain this to his supporters? And will folks on FR bend over and defend it?

Last week everyone sold it as one week, now it’s just four month, then in October it will be a year. This is a capitulation, a failure. Incredible. Trump’s next book, Democratic and Republican approved: The Art of the Failure, Selling out your voters to guarantee a single term.
