Kim has the capability to create massive death and chaos in South Korea, and elsewhere. He could quite easily ignite WW III if things should escalate and spiral out of control. Again, why honor someone clearly evil like this with even the suggestion of giving him respect or credibility?
I think its safe to bet that had Obama said something akin to this Trump probably would have condemned it during the campaign.

I hope you’re right, but I think it will be a cold day in Yuma when Trump ever gets an internationally recognized honor of any sort. However, I’d love to see someone get that prize who ACTUALLY EARNED it.

No. Trump knows Kim wouldn’t meet him even with a gold-plated invitation. This is merely a weak “out” for Kim and a tiny bone tossed to the rest of the world who are watching. In reality it’s a taunt and a subtle insult.
