A rebel Catholic group has ordained its second woman priest in North Carolina, the first in the 46 counties that constitute the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte.
News outlets report that the Association of Roman Catholic Woman Priests ordained 64-year-old Abigail Eltzroth on Sunday at Asheville's Jubilee, a nondenominational faith community. The group is opposed to the Roman Catholic Church's ban on women priests.

This story originated with an article in the Charlotte Observer by a religiously poorly-informed reporter named Tim Funk. This is what I wrote to him:
tfunk@charlotteobserver.com
Dear Tim,
I enjoyed the article on the interfaith priestess. That makes about 250 of them worldwide since about, I think, 1980? They're usually good speakers and singers, too.
One tip: you misinformed your readers by calling this outstanding woman a Catholic priest. She has not received Catholic ordination.
And Rachel Dolezal has not been named NAACP African-American Woman of the Year. And I have not received the Heisman Trophy.
It is much to be regretted.
Stay truthy!

Hi again---
I think you'll get a hoot out of this: three minute YouTube, quite funny actually, made by the Women's Ordination Conference.
"Ordain a Lady" - YouTube 3 min.
The really remarkable thing is, they're so into-their-own-bubble, they apparently don't even realize they're doing a self-parody.
Enjoy!

Remember in Star Trek when Captain Kirk would talk nonsense to the computers and make them explode?

Where will these ‘priests’ conduct Mass? Where is their ‘church’? Do these lovely ‘priests’ intend to conduct services in a Catholic church?
