Admiral Harris: Be Very Afraid of North Korea
american spectator ^ | Jed Babbin

Posted on 05/01/2017 6:52:05 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

When Mr. Tillerson convened the U.N. Security Council to ask it to act against North Korea (which, of course, it won’t), the Norks answered with another missile launch. That one failed, as did a similar launch earlier in April.

President Trump told Reuters in an interview on Thursday that a “major, major conflict” with North Korea was possible over its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Mr. Tillerson’s U.N. initiative included a signal that we might negotiate directly with North Korea but only under conditions that we would set. Such negotiations, Tillerson must know, can never occur for two reasons.

The first is that no negotiation will result in North Korea agreeing to verifiably stopping the development of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles. To do so would have to mean that we — and other Western nations — would be allowed no-notice, unlimited inspections of suspected development sites anywhere in North Korea. That would be a huge surrender by the Kim regime, making it a laughingstock among its fellow members of the new Axis of Evil.

Those inspections would reveal that which North Korea cannot admit. We would be able to discover what Iran is doing in North Korea to develop its own nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles in partnership with the North Koreans and concealed far from Tehran.

The second reason is that North Korea’s rhetoric has backed itself into a corner. Kim and his generals have been drinking their own bathwater for so long that they probably can’t dissent among themselves from their constant high-temperature belligerence. The generals have witnessed the penalty for dissent suffered by some of Kim’s uncles in the past few years.

A “major conflict” with North Korea should last, what- about 20 minutes?

Just find out what bunker that fat little pissant is hiding in, and bomb it over and over until you reach him.

NEVER occurred to me that Iran was doing nuclear work over there.

Why didn’t anyone inform me? :)

The most encouraging trait of Kim is that he kills senior scientists who fail.

This means those with the most knowledge, who might learn from their mistakes, are not around to implement necessary improvements.

Another reason we can't negotiate with N.K. is we don't negotiate with criminals, which Kim Jong-un certainly is...Obama may have done so, but this administration is following the rules.

The fact of the matter is that the ONLY serious weapons system North Korea has is their nukes and missile program (and admittedly that's a big one). The rest of their military is made up of old 1960’s and 1970’s era Soviet and Chinese hand-me-down crap, their air-force consists of around 40 obsolete MIG’s and their navy consists of a some noisy diesel subs and some short range combat ships. In other words, without the nukes, our military would slice through them faster than we did in Iraq.

Screw that. How about unlimited inspections of their nazi style death camps?
Face it, the only cure here is a h-bomb on Pyongyang and on their missile site.

“Never again” my azz.

It is possible that you might be right. But the belligerents in every major war were convinced at the outset that their swift victory was assured. Kim only has to be right (or even lucky) once for a planned adventure to spin into disaster, blurring the distinction between victory and defeat. We should be clear headed as war looms ahead.

Also read posts 80, 81, 82 and 85 on this thread. The article linked in post 81 That article concludes with this statement “There should be no excuse now for ignoring the Iran-Iraq-DPRK strategic axis.” That was 14 years ago.

Just find out what bunker
= = =

It’s not just some bunker. Some tunnels are more than “984 feet” or 300 meters deep.

These tunnels connect warehouses for weapons and food, and even cities, for protection from missile and bomb attacks.

Given the fact that Trump is a man of action (as is Mattis), I expect the North Korea problem will be resolved sooner rather than later. Trump has most likely already had serious talks with China and Russia which is why both countries have moved troops to their borders with North Korea.

The question is, does the Pentagon have a plan of action ready to go?

Knowing Mattis, as we all do, the answer to that question is most likely a resounding yes.

The problem is the serious carnage on the South that would be caused in the first 10 minutes. Then there would be some longer term commie zealots trying to carry on once the country was vanquished.

The Iran scam worsens — Part II, North Korea - China connection
Dan Miller’s Blog ^ | June 17, 2015 | Dan Miller

It is likely that the P5+1 nuke “deal” with Iran will be approved soon. Military and other nuke sites which Iran has not “disclosed” will not be inspected. Nor will Iran’s nuke ties with North Korea — which P5+1 member China seems to be helping, Iran’s massive support for terrorism and abysmal human rights record be considered because they are also deemed unnecessary for “deal” approval. Sanctions against Iran are moribund and will not be revived regardless of whether there is a “deal.” However, a bronze bust of Obama may soon be displayed prominently in Supreme Leader Khamenei’s office and one of Khamenei may soon be displayed proudly in Dear Leader Obama’s office.

Don’t bomb too much. We need to find out about Iran’s involvement.
