Still, "okay" was supposed to have started with Andrew Jackson or Martin Van Buren, and we know about those guys, don't we?
They included slang terms, and they dropped the designations “slang,” “substandard,” “illiterate,” etc.

In Germany you can be fined for giving offensive hand signals; the worst is the “Vogelzeichen”, made by tapping the forefinger against the temple which suggests the recipient has birds flying around inside his empty head.
Those Germans. Insulting one’s intelligence is to them far more heinous than vulgar or obscene gestures, at which they just laugh and go you one better.
Anyway, the “a-hole” sign is ambiguous in Germany as it can also mean “Prima” or “Klasse”, meaning A-OK. Depends where you are.
But “white supremacist”?? Please.......
It’s just the Pepe, the green frog, hand symbol that online Trump supporters have been using for ages. Of course, Hillary’s campaign tried to pretend that Pepe is white supremacist too…and those who use that meme online laughed at the crazy accusation. Only leftists think these things have anything to do with white supremacy (probably because they are entirely fixated on race).
Obama’s brother, Malik tweeted a photo of himself doing the same symbol for the same reason (un-PC Trump support) during the campaign. Milo’s followers do it all the time—although the Berkeley brownshirt antifas consider him a white supremacist too no doubt, even though there is no indication that he actually is one. It’s crazy that the left will keep pushing their tired lies even when non-white or mixed race Trump supporters flash that sign.
Not THAT long ago, some poor dude lost his job in DC for using the word “niggardly.”
It’s a standard hand sign in the online politically incorrect, pro-Trump community. Before the anti-free speech people at Twitter took down his feed, Milo used have a ton of photos of himself posing with supporters doing that symbol, sometimes in MAGA caps and other Trump gear.
I don’t know if this is accurate, but I remember someone on The_Donald on Reddit saying that hand symbol was chosen by Trump supporters online as their symbol specifically because Trump often moves his hand up and down while making essentially an OK sign while speaking.
Oh, okay. I did not know that happened then.
I’ve always wanted a copy of the Oxford English Dictionary - the original 20 or so volume series. I can afford one (if I want to blow $1,000) but I just don’t have the shelf space. Maybe one day.
